Drowseuessiri
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Drowseuessiri are the eldest and most numerous dark-elf culture of the Underdark: matriarchal city-states ruled by great Houses, sustained by silk, shadow, and the ruthless arithmetic of survival. They remember the ancient fratricide of the War of the Seldarine and wear exile as both curse and coronet. In 1021 AB the Brokering of Peace in the Drow Pantheon tempered open sectarian war in some cities, but custom and ambition still grind like stalactite and stone.
Society
Noble Houses
Society is organized into a ranked ladder of Great Houses. The First House holds the most influence, and lower houses constantly vie for advancement. To destroy a higher house without being caught is seen as a legitimate political maneuver. Women, specifically the Matron Mothers, hold absolute authority. As the primary clerics of the Dark Seldarine, they are the arbiters of law, life, and death. The ruthless arithmetic of their economy relies heavily on slave labor captured from other races—dwarves, gnomes, and surface elves. Slaves are treated as expendable tools, performing the menial labor that drow deem beneath their dignity.History
Since the Brokering of Peace in The Drow Pantheon, open warfare between the priesthoods of Dark Seldarine pantheon have diminished. Instead, they operate theological disputes are settled through sanctioned duels and proxy assassinations rather than city-wide purges.Culture
Shared customary codes and values
A Drow's House is their nation, their family, and their only protection. The lower a House’s rank, the more desperate its maneuvers to climb. If a House is entirely eradicated, its name is scrubbed from the annals, and its survivors are "un-personed" into slavery.

Art & Architecture
Architecture climbs rather than sprawls: ribbed towers, bridge-webs, mirrored stone. Colors: hematite, wine, venom-green, bone. Music favors skin-drums and glass chimes that map echo-profiles of chambers. Masques, pageants, and knife-dances educate as much as entertain.
They favor a palette of hematite, wine, venom-green, and bone. Their art is often macabre, celebrating the beauty of death and the elegance of the arachnid form. Masques and pageants are used to reinforce house history. Knife-dances, which are performative combat where blood is shed artistically, are the most popular public spectacle.
Foods & Cuisine
They eat what the deep provides: Rothe (underdark cattle), edible fungi, and blind-fish. They have a penchant for bitter spices and fermented moss-liquors. "Spider-Silk Pasta" (made from processed fungal fibers) is a staple for the elite, often served with a reduction of poisonous snails (detoxified by magic). Formal meals involve a "taster" (usually a slave) for every course, as poisoning is a common social maneuver even though, Detect Poison is used every time.
Ideals
Gender Ideals
In the eyes of the Drowseuessiri, the female is the superior sex as in fact smarter, more magically attuned, and naturally suited for leadership. The priesthood is exclusively female, and to touch a priestess without permission is a death sentence. Males occupy secondary roles as masters of arcane magic or elite martial instructors. While a male can be highly respected for his utility, he never holds true political sovereignty.
