Wyrthari

A mix of experience raiders, often containing several dozen former Raid Leaders, who survived their challenge. These hands guiding new raiders in better combat tactics, teaching them how to hunt more dangerous prey. They also bring the new blood out to the outer territories of the Clan, as many new raiders have never been outside the village without an escort and special permissions. Here the Goblins learn how to take orders without question, here they learn how function cohesively in groups. The Wyrthari roughly translates to "The Teachers." Though this raiding party is about the same size as the other two, it is also made of the oldest raiders. As the job of defending the village is much more relaxed than the frontline raiders like the Wyremi or the Chief's raiders. Seen as a form of retirement for the raiders, while the old train in their replacements.

Weaponry

Few firearms, these are a hard fought for weapon inside the ranks of the Raiders, as finding travelers with them while going through the Ancient Forest is quite rare. The Wyrthari currently has possession of an estimated twelve Cloquet lever action rifles, twenty small caliber pistols , and several blunderbuss. They predominantly utilize spears, long knives that function as swords, and crossbows.

Tactics

The Wyrthari are considered predominantly Hunters, as their duties mostly pertain to protection of the village's territory. Defending from Harpies, to human incursions, protecting the Famille from beasts in the forest (Giant Elk, Serpent Beasts, and Basilisk being the largest threats.) Favoring hit and run tactics, they attack in groups of four or five. One in the group is used as bait to lure out targets, while the others take advantageous positions to do one of two things.   They either drop from the canopy of the forest and pin their target(s) to the forest floor with spear or knife. Using their falling weight to knock smaller targets to the ground, or driving their weapon through thick plate or hide. They will typically strike the neck or the spinal cord, aiming to either make the target bleed to death within a few seconds, or paralyze the target while engaging the next target.   The second tactic is that will lay down a volley of crossbow bolts, aiming for center mass. If targeting multiple creatures, they will each mark their targets before hand, and aim for the neck or heart if available. They are known to aim for the eyes as well, if their target is numerous, they will use their firearms and work in groups of four squads or more. Each squad containing the singular hunting party. They typically prefer divide and conquer tactics when dealing with groups.   These are their main tactics, though each squad is highly adaptable due to years of service to their Clan. They change position on the fly, keeping up high were not many targets look in the canopies to search for threats. They are fully capable of going one on one with targets, though prefer safety in numbers. Faster than humans, the squad will raid groups that match their numbers. Often not bothering to wait for more advantageous conditions, unless the targets possess firearms, where they will drop down or ambush. The Wyrthari are more fond of Ilgor of the Skullbrood Clan tactics as of late, subduing targets rather than killing them.
