WAWA 26 Stuff
And so, I have submitted a decent few things. All things considered, I don't high hopes of getting anywhere. Not that my stuff is bad, no, it's fine and I wouldn't have put anything forward if it was bad, but if you take a second to look at the competition, it's not really a contest anymore. But regardless, submitting is free and nothing bad can come of it, so why not.
Here's the list;
Best World
SJ itself, as a whole. It's my baby and about the only thing I've worked on here in, well, ever.Entirely honestly, even despite my very reasonable and founded reservations, I do genuinely believe SJ can get at least nominated. Will it? Probably not, but it could, if you ask me.
The supporting articles were the following;
Ochtotne Prime is one of those foundational articles. While recently rewritten, very thoroughly, the locale itself is one of SJ's first features, and is very important to the stories and the development of the setting.
STUN
The dominant power of the core regions, a loose federation of sorts
A very recent, and slightly rushed, article. Fusion is still a quintessential SJ article; long, technical, highly in-depth, and slightly too goddamn boring for anyone that isn't already interested. It may skip out a bit on the social impact, but the technology is extensively explored.
Map
It's the map.Very fun to make, very cool. Making a 3d map of space into a 2d view has its issues, and certain parts are wonky, messy, and everything like that, but it is still a cool, and very distinct, map, full of stuff to find and read. Bout 80 pins, last I checked.
Best Article
I had originally intended for synthetics to go into the tech/science/so on category, but frankly, it came out really well. Solid formatting, plenty of images, thorough exploration of all variety of topics, and cool pictures. So, I instead decided to go all out and put it up for best article. Will I be dissapointed. Yes, likely. But still, it's not an unreasonable hope.
Rise of Nations
This is one of those foundational articles again, and one directly vital to all of the stories, honestly. They all tie back to Cellea, in some way or another. The empire itself was also fun to think about, what with all the pre-ftl logistics, monumental legacy and multi-century history.
Strength and Honour
Skejon's a bit of an offhanded submission. Is it a good article? Yeah, I'd say so. Is it better than Stringer or Mad? Eh, maybe. It has more flavour to it, and is somewhat more digestible (though also rather long). Is it good enough? Probably not, honestly, but it fit, and is still one I am proud of, so why not.
But yeah, that's about it. We'll see where these go. Somewhere, hopefully. In the meantime, I have other stuff happening. Good luck to everyone else doing this as well. I may have certain opinions about the awards, but it is probably a net positive, and does definitely raise the spirits of the community, which is nice to see.

You have such a cool map! Best of luck!
