Narez
Narez is a holdfast owned and maintained by the House of Lanterns in the Throne Worlds. From here, the Lanterns conduct their transhumanist work. Narez is known throughout the Baronies as the ugliest world in the Throne. A small ball of bitterly cold tundra wrinkled and cracked by mountains and kilometers-deep canyons, there is indeed a little beauty to be seen, but of the harshest and most austere kind. The world – as with its people – takes getting to know; Narez’s beauty is hidden precisely because of its severity, and the seriousness with which its people go about their work.
Narez is the most recently established Throne World, with the House of Lanterns Terraforming it sometime during the Imperial reconstruction. While very few people live here, it still gives the House of Lanterns power since they have control over a Throne World. This has proved irksome to older, more established houses like the House of Moments and House of Flowers.
While not as beautiful as planet's like Temple or as populated as Tymorra, Narez is rich with rare Cyrax Crystals, Demali Gyms and other rare minerals and resources. These valuable gems are mined from deep in the upper mantle the core of the world and require highly specialized tools and skills to extract. It is estimated that there are tens of trillions of credits worth of resources on the planet, house of lanterns claims this is an undersell, and there could be hundreds of trillions of resources hiding just below in the lower mantle and core of the world.
To avoid the biting windchill on the surface, the planet's sole city is dug downwards. Modeling systems like Vulcan-Minor, the city Ratanakiri is dug almost twelve miles downwards into the surface. The mining shafts stretch down even deeper.
