The Bearers' Hands

In the middle of the Lythoria district, a few streets over from its library is a weathered bricked building, the front painted a standard white with primary colored shapes grouped around the doors. It was simply known as The Shelter. It was a completely inclusive houseless shelter that served food and held a few beds for those in need.
It existed because of The Bearers' Hands, a psy inclusive charity organization that appeared in Gehnma in the fall of 1969. The Shelter had been the first of its many projects in the area and Gehnma as a whole.
The organization has continued to grow since then to a network of non profits, advocacy offices, other shelters across the Skirts Folds and even some small initiatives in the Colonies. They provide education, housing, medical needs, clothes and food to the needy.
This has lead to some controversy for the organization given a lot of their work centers around marginalized groups that most people would not work with in the Colonies and most of the charities centered around the Folds. They tended to focus their efforts on Astras and the deviant outcasts such as the Husks (those suffering from Vok'Lanu Syndrome) and the Fallen (people cursed with a nasty ritual).
Socially these groups are seen as less than and tainted. Even most other charity organizations refuse to help them for fear of being "cotaminated" or harmed. Many think that organization is part of the darker aspects of their society because of their refusal to ostrasize them.

Structure

The organization of the charity network is loose compared to other organizations. The current head mostly sees to the day to day operations of The Shelter and also keeps an eye on the subordinates under him through constant contact with the leaders of all the satellite shelters and offices. The offices have their own structures and modes of operating. They have different areas that they focus on in terms of charity.

History

eThe Bearers' Hands initially started as an undercover story for what was supposed to be a two year mission in Gehnma that later stretched to be 3 and a half years . Jergen had been working his last mission before his own retirement from CEREBRUM. He was putting together an information gathering point in the largest of the Folds.
He was also training the young Pack at the time, mainly Jack Delgado. He had the young team helping him to refit an old building into a shelter for those in need within Gehnma. This would later become known as The Shelter. During this time, he taught them the secrets of espionage and networking.
These teachings would lead to the creation of the The Bearers' Hands organization. Over the course of the training and rebuilding the shelter, he had them gathering the necessary intel and building other vital parts of the operation from personnel to things like food.
By the time the mission was complete, the Bearers' Hands organization was one of the most well connected charity groups in the Folds. This was mainly supported through volunteers and the Pack's continued support of it as well. The Organization also provided necessary assistance when their objectives lined up.
Then in 1972, Jergen finally retired and set up in Gehnma and remains there as the official head of The Bearers' Hands organization and the caretaker of The Shelter watching over the people and keeping an eye out for potential agents and trouble in the area.
Jack Delgado acts as the Head of the organization's networking Division often spending time traveling the circuit during various points of the year to check in on any large operations and information. He spends a bit more time in this role nowadays as he does less field work to care for his son while his wife continues her work.
