Copper
Overview
When a Sophont reaches maturity, their Veil swells large enough to finally become capable of absorbing the pure Primal Elements held within the Natural Treasures of Marus. These individuals, known as Gifted, begin their Paths to Power in the Relic Arts as lowly Coppered. They are the weakest of the Gifted, unable to truly reign in the presence of their fledgling Veils or exert any serious control over the single Primal Element at their disposal. This rank takes its name from the deep copper hue emitted by the blood as Primal Elements course through the Gifted veins and contorted Veil to produce workings of the Relic Arts. Advancement for Coppered is simple and rather straightforward compared to those of higher ranks; they must seek out a more powerful Natural Treasure to absorb and grow their Veil further. Only finalizing their advancement into Tin by deepening their connection to a Primal Concept absorbed through their Copper Treasure.
The Copper's Fierce Veil spread over the room like a living flame devoid of its smoke and heat. The young Gifted wove it into a simple Striker Technique that concentrated his Veil into a potent bolt of Primal Fire. When he released the crackling Working, a crimson missile ripped through the air, filled with painful and purifying flames.
A Copper Body
All Gifted possess a magically empowered physical body that changes greatly as they advance. As a lowly Copper, these changes are only minor and barely noticeable. They are not granted extended lifespans, regrown limbs, or superhuman abilities; instead, they benefit from an exceptionally healthy constitution, a durable frame, and a sharpened mind. Any exemplar among the Duddens could rival a Copper provided they put in a great deal of hard work.
