Alchia

Alchia is one of the largest planets in the Alcor System and is the home of the Aliki and the Irunak. Alchia is odd among other planets because it does not spin on its own axis. Instead, it only orbits around the Alcora, meaning one side is permanently in the light and the other side is permanently in the dark.

Alchia is quite close to the Alcora, and so its inhabitants get a lot of the powers that come from the Solastra Constellation. This makes the Aliki and the Irunak very powerful.

Landmasses

Alchia is split into two distinct continents - Nikta in the north and Imek in the south. Alchia is tilted to one side, so the northern side faces away from the Alcora while Imek faces it at all times. There are some regions in between the two continents which have features of both continents. Generally, the Aliki live in Nikta while the Irunak live in Imek.

Nikta

The continent of Nikta is a near-eternal winter with frost and glaciers everywhere. Most plants are adapted for growing only in the shade, and there is an abundance of fungi like mushrooms. Plants cannot photosynthesize, and therefore do not grow very tall. However, there is no need for tall plants as there is no need for animals and people to seek shade in Nikta.

Nikta operates on a low-light cycle, as there is no day. The trees have bioluminescent substances that light up at certain times for a few hours, and this is when the Aliki will do their activities. People and animals do not sleep a long sleep, as they tend to be nocturnal. They tend to sleep for a few hours at a time, and usually when it is pitch black.

Imek

In contrast, it is always daytime in Imek. Since the Alcora sits directly on top of the continent at all times, Imek is almost always burning hot. There are only two seasons in Imek - the rain season and the dry season. The dry season lasts most of the year, while the rain season only lasts for a few months. The rain and wind do not cool the place down as much, but it is enough for most creatures living there.

When the animals and people want to sleep, they will find shade and sleep there. As there is no night, they sleep in the hottest parts of the "day" and will move around at cooler times. In the rain season, the inhabitants tend to sleep less because it is cooler.

Central Regions

There are some lands in between the two hemispheres at certain parts of the planet, where night and day meet. The temperatures here are not too extreme and there are resources that are of use to both sides of the planet. Not many people live on these lands, but those that do tend to be hybrid species and have both night and day powers.

Alchia was once home to many resources that could sustain both hemispheres without issue. A lot of commonly-used resources were found in the lands between Imek and Nikta, meaning the lands were very valuable to Alchia. Because these lands were smaller than the giant continents, resources began to run out as more people needed to use them. This was mainly in the south, as there were a lot more people.

The Irunak

The Irunak are the majority species on Alchia, and live in Imek. Their powers are daytime powers because they are exposed to the sun all the time. Irunak can withstand extremely hot temperatures and have skin adapted to the Alcora's rays. They can also live in very bright places without it affecting their eyesight or health.

The Aliki

The Aliki are the minority species of Alchia and live in the northern hemisphere. Because of this, they have powers that they can only use at night. Aliki are known to withstand extremely low temperatures and can thrive in the darkness. They also have night vision, meaning they are suited for space travel and can go on space expeditions.
