Flowers in the North

"I never knew flowers could grow in the north."
"A carefully tended garden can grow in even the most blasted conditions."
— Levje's wisdom
Flowers in the North is a collection of tales often told of the ascended champions of Vosra, Kora and Levje, and the life they led together between the heroics of their historic travels.

Fiction or Fact

The legitimacy of the tales is often debated, with reception varied across the Kingdom of Arsavela where the stories are most prevalent. Only the heroics of Vosra's champions are regarded as true historical accounts. With the introduction of Flowers in the North to the rotation of stories told and shared of these revered historical figures, there was a mix of acceptance and pushback throughout the land.
These tales explore what slice-of-life moments may have looked like between the two ascended goddesses as they fought alongside their allies against the forces of Oblivion. Those who reject the tales argue that these revered figures were above mortal trysts and trite connections. Those who accept the tales are often quick to remind others that these historical women were once human, and that love is a human trait few can ignore.

Origins of the Tales

Where these tales first began circulating remains a mystery to scholars of the kingdom. Now, cut off from their original research material, the kingdom's scholars have even fewer resources with which to pursue their investigation on the matter. Most of the tales of Flowers in the North are spread by oral tradition, making tracing their origins by written word and physical documentation all but impossible.
People theorize that the tales spawned from travelers who came from Ba'logor, such as the Ilogari who once settled in the Savelan Northlands. Their connection to Kora's homeland is said to have given them more insight into the personal life of the revered figure that the great myths never told.

Tell me more, tell me more :P

I second Asmo tell us more! But also 'revered figures are above such mortal trysts and trite connections' then why would we ever revere them? Then they would be boring, and we can't have that now can we, come on. Have you seen the madness of the world and the peoples that live in it friend? The Gods might be many things but I promise you one thing they definitely are not is boring!

I love the idea of slice of life stories between goddesses. Of course, I love the idea of slice of life stories, regardless. I really want to read the story that I assume the opening quote is from.

Slice of life between goddesses sounds like a wonderful read. I second (third fourth...?) the sentiment that we need more. Anyhoo wonderful article altogether.
