Marlee

Marlee is a major city located in Teme-Rasadar. It's located along the base of the western half of the Lendover Mountains, within its foothills.   The city is notable for its military value, hosting administrative facilities, training facilities, and communication centers of significance to the Teme-Rasadan army. It's proximity to a cavern system into the Lendover Mountains makes it a frequent stop for travelers and traders who access the Underdark from within the mountain range. It is also a frequent stop for those traveling from or through the Lluvia Forest, as it is the closest major city near its Teme-Rasadii entry and exit route.

History

During the Caelsimilan Crusade against Teme-Rasadar, a group of spymasters from Florence entered Marlee and stole documentation from a secured military building located within the city. After their theft was discovered, it was blamed on Teme-Rasadii Commander Rikius Falenmir due to existing conflict between himself and Major General Mikael Glaes, both stationed in the city. He was declared a traitor and tortured for information, which turned him against his nation for their cruelty. He fled to Florence, intent on seeking vengeance against those who had actually stolen the information, but he was instead captured.   Upon discovering that the Caelsimilan military intended to assassinate Glaes, he agreed to go along with a plan to infiltrate the city once more. He acted as a prisoner, with the same group of spymasters disguising themselves as citizens who had captured the fleeing commander with the intent to turn him in for an award. They traveled through the Lluvia Forest and brought Rikius to the military holding cells upon their arrival in Marlee. The next day, spymasters entered the building an attacked Major General Glaes, eventually slaying him. Industria Cellini disguised herself as the Major General using magic and entered the holding cells, where they left Glaes's real body to stage a jail escape. She and the other spymasters then gave Rikius and the other prisoners, who had been tricked into assisting the spymasters in their infiltration of the building, the choice to join them on their return to Caelsimil or be killed. No one else was killed as they successfully escaped the city and returned to Florence unnoticed.   Glaes's death was a major loss for the Teme-Rasadii government, and the full truth of Caelsmil's role was never uncovered during the war.
