Realm Seeds

DO NOT EAT

Within the universe, within the cosmic landscape, stars form as they do, coallescing through gravity and bonds to form stars. Planets and such too, follow gravity and cosmic forces. But to generate a realm, and not just piggyback off an existing realm (or indeed expand its influence) something more is needed.

Each realm in the cosmos plays and holds to its own magic - even the lands of humans in Tyr have magic, though humanity has yet to discover it, and it is unknown if they Data Corrupted.

Still, it is interesting to note that while the universe is vast, each realm holds and is dictated by its own magics. Strange is the galaxy not held within its own bubble of magic, the realm not clicking to the clockwork of its own cosmic connection to the Well of Possibility.

Due to the nature of varying stomachs throughout the many realms, many of them herbivourous but some just plain able to consume - DO NOT EAT the following, if you ever have to be travelling the realms (or proto realms in this case) of the cosmos.

The point is, that when a realm develops from a solar system, from a galaxy, when the chaos of the well feels the minds of developing organisms, it sends out a seed, punching through the firmament of existance and into this proto-realm. This seed is a thing of fleshy texture but distinctly herbivorous in nature, pale white to the point of translucent and refracting the colours of the sky and earth when observed. It is driven into the crust of one of the planets of the realm, just deep enough to half submerge it, where it begins to pulse with the hearts of the organisms of the proto-realm.

It is recorded as hearts, because this embedding process is relatively quick for cosmic standards, but can take several million years in the real world. As such through various means, organisms can turn to beings fairly easily. When a seed has imbedded, it begins to pulse with possibility, again, do not eat the seed, for what it contains is the building blocks of raw magic, burned into matter, in a form so chaotic that to eat it guarantees transmutation of some kind.

Needless to say, if a world has developed enough between the time of thought and the time of seed-fall, there might exist a chance that something native might consume part or all of the Realm Seed. If it does not, the seed begins to decay, releasing the metaphysical forces that will help the realm go from one without magic into a realm that could become part of the network of connections, given time.

The line between discovery and fact

Seed-fall and Realm Seeds are only known because of the collaborative work between Levis stargazers, and demonic historians.

Before the realm travelling of Thalia Moondance, it was the demons who most travelled the realms between, and their ancient histories paint wild tales of transformation after discovering ancient verdant lands.

Meanwhile, after Kaid Renn worked off the discoveries of the stargazer Kael, further studies helped map and hypothesise the dawning of the realms through vigorous mathematical and astronomical study.
