Phee Saltstone

I once heard she sailed the night alone on her ship the Healthy Bloom, after her crew was killed.
More myth that real woman, the Nightbloom captain was reported to sail the seas of Oceanus and the Nocturne Empire, in her amphibious ship, a massive ocean rose growing as her mast. Phee and her bonded plant sailed with her crew of whisperling and nightbloom, their territory the gardens of her crew. Though no record of her passage, nor of the ship the Healthy Bloom exist, her name is told to the children of the coastal towns of Oceanus, to the Bar of Echoes.
The greatest story of Captain Saltstone is the story of her lost treasure - and while material wealth is not something actively pursued within Levis - there are not zero ships that have been lost on a hunt for her haul. While many a tall tale exist about her hunts, it is her last haul that bears interest. It was said that she had taken cursed wood from the the Oracle Grove, headed to Avani. Alongside it were riches abound, preserved Septum, bindings from far off lands, and maps of some of the stranger lands North of North. But she was a pirate a good pirate - the octopus queen, some may say, but she shared the waters with the pirate-killer Oda Ren Kai.
With Oda Ren chasing her in her pod boat, the Healthy Bloom had crew by crew picked off by the troll combat mage, until the crew of the Healthy Bloom could not even sleep on that long, still night, jumping at shadows. Captain Saltstone dived her ship below the seas, to the protests of her crew that worried about the cargo and how it would fare the briny waters. Still, with vinular rope in hand, Saltstone decided to hunt the pod boat in return. Little is known of the battle - except that myth claims the clear calm night erupted in storm by the end, that the swhip itself found itself in the tooth of a kraken, and that Oda Ren left the battle with a deep rope cut across her tusk and face, one eye permenantly blind.

Historical Basis

While piracy was rife around 1400s Quiet Years, and the story of Oda Ren and her growing injuries and victories are well documented, Nocturne pirates were not yet a common thing, and archivists and historians from Natare do suggest that a pirate of her skill would have been recorded in trading manifests that reached the Saburra Desert Archive from that era. Unsurprising the records of piracy from that era are independant trolls, or foliad buccaneers.

Spread

The story of the nightbloom queen is well known in the right circles - as is the hunt for her treasure. While some have managed to piece together her likely haunts, and compared it to some of her more common stories, the vastness of Oceanus have left many to ruin ship and life upon gaining a treasure that if it ever existed would be long lost to the damage of the seas.
