Float lift
Have you considered the innovation of air and vaccuum? How concentrated air through a hollow tube can propel a mostly flush plane across a gaseous medium? The technomages of Levis did not think in those terms, but when design met need, this was the concept they used.
Utility
The float lift is mainly used as a peoples and goods transportation, using different pressures of propelled wind to accelerate the platform up and down the tube encasement.
Access & Availability
Its spread is slow, being significantly resource ineffective outsude places with large height differences - the main access point of Gracetown has become a float lift, but the Soundtower of Waverly Point would not gain one for example.
Another usage point was the VRPI tower, and its sister towers inside Natare, the breathing vents of the towers themselves releasing the excess vent gas and allowing easy and reliable transport for those that are difficult to stairs.

Complexity
The float lift is powered by solar cells, with conduit vines connecting to the power source. The platform is grown with a double ring and bell type arrangement, enough weight to keep the centre of mass low, but a broad enough centre of weight that a force of inertia can be created in the system.
The system is designed that when at rest the bell is docked inside a recess, and it is this recess that feeds the platform and keeps the system happy and healthy.
Struts push out from a floor to catch the platform when at rest, and for embarking or disembarking. Sensors send information to the circuit to alter the flow pressure when the flow of air is engaged to balance for weight.
The casing walls of the lift is almost always insulated for sound, with release valves along the tube allowing it to breath should air pressure grow too much.
While one of the more technological elements within Levis, the pure magic pulsing within the float lift provides a system that has been likened to living, and often receives anthropomorphisation from riders and maintenance teams alike.

The concept is great, even if I don’t understand it :D I would love to have a schematic of how it works. Maybe then I would be able to understand it …
