Their culture revolved around tidal computation, using both ancient intuition and state of the art AI, as their perpetually moving reed cities floated through the bioluminescent delta region, shifting with uncanny precision to match the ever changing tides.
Geographic Location
The Jinri'an roamed the western equatorial marshlands and deltas of Aokaan Dari from about 5 degrees north to 5 degrees south latitudes centered near the equator. Their territory was located southwest of the Avenai and to the west of the great plain of Bo Kaabo near the Somari Strait, and their channels linked directly to the river routes that led toward the City of Song.
Migration Patterns
The tidal cycles determined the routes for the Jinri'an, while the ebb and flow of the wildlife native to their wetlands determined the timing of their movements as they floated along foraging, harvesting, and tending to the well-being of the delta region that they called home. Their folding bark vessels and shifting reed cities dotted the glowing channels of the marshlands, and when the timing was just right, all the clans would paddle upriver to attend the Festival of Titi'abule, arriving in vast floating camps near the City of Song.
Landscape & Settlements
The Jinri'an occupied a region of bioluminescent wetlands with shifting tidal channels where colorful marsh grasses were threaded with luminous insects, and long legged amphibians and bottom feeding levy eels slipped quietly through the shallow water. They lived in floating reed cities that could be tethered by gravitic anchors, but most of the time, their modular mobile floating platform shelters were everchanging and in continuous motion. Entire camps could rotate and reform to realign with the shifting tides without a single word of direction being spoken by the inhabitants.
Daily Life
For the Jinri'an, mornings involved tidal computation councils where elders and AIs would compare predictions about the shifting tides. The rest of the day was usually spent engaging in the quantum tracking of marsh life, foraging, harvesting, and tending to the overall well-being of their delta region. In the evenings, the people would come together to prepare and share a communal meal that usually consisted of slow simmered, nutrient rich delta stews thick with marsh mollusks and locally harvested grains, such as tisa, served with algae flatbreads. The Jinri'an used tidal pattern entanglements to measure the surges of Zirakon, the smaller unpredictable one of their twin stars, while the stillness windows of Danare, the bright and steady star, signaled safe travel times. They interpreted marsh light phenomena as sky reflections from other timelines.
