Conquest Tokens
As soon as his brothers sat down in his office, Uri opened the meeting with a question, "Is it my imagination, or has everyone around here gotten even crazier than usual lately?"
"It's that Conquest game." Mike responded. "Do you know how close we came to having an all out brawl in the gaming room last night? The yellow coalition and the purple coalition got into a shouting match over tokens that nearly came to blows."
Gabe added, "Just the other day, one of my techs got sucker punched, while she was walking through the garden, by some nutcase shouting, "Red will rule the galaxy!" She's never even played the stupid game. She just happened to be wearing a green shirt that day."
Rafi said, "That's nothing. One of our regular merchants actually got stabbed by someone from a rival coalition who lured him into a secluded spot with a fake notification about a problem with one of his shipments. It's a miracle the guy didn't bleed to death right there in the cargo bay! If you ask me, these Conquest fanatics have gone beyond crazy right into stupid. What is wrong with these people?! They're ready to kill each other over some dumb virtual tokens that aren't worth a thing outside of that game!"
Mike shook his head. "I could understand if they were playing for actual money, but this is just ridiculous."
"Yeah, and if it keeps up, I'm gonna need to hire some more muscle for the Squad just to keep them from tearing the whole starbase apart." Uri complained.
Just then the Crossroads' alarm claxons began to wail for the first time since way back during the Acquisition Wars. The screaming noise made their blood run cold as Uri hit the comm to his Squad leader and barked, "Report!"
It sounded like there was a full blown war going on in the background, making it difficult to hear the frantic response, "The Conquest coalitions have declared the entire Promenade a combat zone, sir. We're out numbered and barely holding on. The blue coalition has taken Aurelia's Tea House.....and sir.....they've got hostages and are demanding an obscene amount of conquest tokens in return for their safety."
Unbeknownst to most players, conquest tokens contain a subliminal signal that, in some individuals, triggers a response similar to substance addiction leading to irrational behavior. As a result, the game that started out as a harmless pastime, popular all across Kantostara, became a menace to society and was eventually outlawed in many places.

Description
Conquest tokens are a type of virtual token earned by players of Conquest, the multi player virtual war game where players join one of six coalitions (blue, green, red, yellow, purple, and pink) and each coalition battles the others in an effort to conquer the galaxy. As players level up and conquer more territory, their coalition earns more tokens allowing them to increase their power and amass more resources to use against rival coalitions.Unbeknownst to most players, conquest tokens contain a subliminal signal that, in some individuals, triggers a response similar to substance addiction leading to irrational behavior.
