Velithir

Velithir is the only major city outside the Whispering Wall which surrounds the main territories of The Whispering Expanse. Very few from the other Iridican territories have ventured further inward, so when most people spek of having visited the mysterious Whispering Expanse, they are referring to the city of Velithir.
Acting as the Expanse's primary link to the outside world, Velithir acts as a launching point for expeditions across Iridica. While they have the capacity for trade, little occurs on any kind of meaningful scale, with most of Velithir's needs fulfilled from the Expanse's mainland within the Whispering Wall. Some small scale trading does take place amongst individuals and small business, usually run by those who have spent their lives in Velithir and harbour a curiosity about the other nations.

Geographically, Velithir is spread across a number of sea-level islands, interconnected by bridges carved from the mists harvested from the Whispering Wall, compressed into functional, stone-like slabs. Above the islands, carved entirely from mist, the Veilview tower acts as a lookout post and docking point for visiting skyships.

Demographics

As well as being the ancestral origin of the dusk elves, there is a heavy drow population in Velithir. There is also a small luminae community, but this is limited as few ever travel beyond the Whispered Wall.
