Vagrigh

"The spirits are mad at the intrusion of magic to their domain, we must appease them lest we drown in their anger and revenge." preached the man during the start of the event. "I don't know about spirits or magic or whatever, I'm just hoping this island won't go in flames and make us flee" whispered someone in the crowd.

Vagrigh is the youngest yet largest island in the Kliras archipelago. It is home to spiritual people and outsiders that settled down for work or came from Ashtara, causing some duality on the island. It is known for its yearly eruptions from the Tundea volcano.

Geography

The island is mostly covered in a lush jungle and has white sand beaches. Approximately on the center of the island, a wide volcano lies restless, causing small eruption quite often. Around Tundea volcano, the lush jungle drastically turns into plains with short young bushes and young trees. A few villages dotted the white beaches.

Almost three decades ago, most of the island suffered a great change, as a big eruption from the Tundea destroyed most of the forest and even affected parts of the coast. Since then, the island has mostly recovered, yet if one looks carefully one can see where the old forest becoms young and where the solidified lava changed the coast and burnt it forever.

Life

The oldest towns hold people who follow similar values as the rest of Kliras. They believe that nature is filled with powerful spirits and that to anger them is self-destructive. They are people who believe in old traditions and beliefs and tend to either deny what has been happening since the The dawn of magic or try find explanations within what they believed in.

The newer towns hold a mix of Ipharians and Ashtarians, working together to find peace in the chaos of the world. That often means for Ipharians to either accept that their faith is not what the world is moving towards or changing it to fit the world better.

The The dawn of magic seemingly hasn't caused much change: other than the reviving of the Tundea, magic nor its corruption has been seen on the island, other than what it might be caused by the people waking up and finding themselves a caster or the people from Ashtara.
