Renjus
Renjus is an ancient city, perhaps the oldest human settlement in the whole of Ariae. Columned palaces, ancient temples, and spectacular monuments tower upon cliffs that rise high above the slate-grey central harbor, defiant of the tests of time. Younger buildings stand seamlessly among them, ringed by massive whitewashed walls, cut through with wide mosaic-laden avenues, capped by amber and russet tiled roofs. An intricate system of docks spread forth into the harbor, lined with the spear-like masts of carracks, caravels, galleons, and galleys.
Beyond the central harbor, which bustles with trade and commerce, additional harbors are connected via magecraft-hewn canals. This connects the city via waterways as effectively as the well-maintained roads. The most impressive harbor is actually bored beneath the great white cliffs that surround the city proper, a union of ancient verger ingenuity and Renjuguese magecraft. It is here the Imperial Navy is berthed, alongside the personal craft of the Alza Nobleza, whose villas connect via massive staircases to inherited docks below.
