Camascon
The peoples dubbed "Camas," or Grey by the Old Empire of Renjus have dwelled along the western coastline of the Lutrucian peninsula for the length of recorded history. For many millennia they lived peacefully under the umbrella of larger empires, farming the arable hillsides and fishing from the teeming waters of the Aelanthine. When the old empires crumbled and the Age of Unknowing descended upon Ariae and Opril, the Camas region became a disparate feudal state of minor domains. Eventually, the Camascon were integrated into greater Lutrice some three hundred years ago.
The word "grey" aptly describes the Camascon, from the climate of their ancestral home, filled with grey fog weaving through grey-limbed trees upon grey stone cliffs, to their dominant smoke-grey eyes and prematurely-greying hair, to their cool skin tones that appear to have a grey tint under cloudy skies.
Camascon fashions use simple materials, though the weave work is exquisite and intricate. Colors are generally cooler blues, greens, and lavenders, dyed with the skins of local berries. Most have adopted broader Lutrecian hairstyles, though traditionally, men wear their hair at shoulder length with plaited beards and women grow their braided hair to the small of their backs.
