Eos Communication
The Eos species, known for their jellyfish like structure, have a unique form of communication.
Eos communicate with a combination of bioluminescent light, body motions and biochemical excretions. Their chemical sensory organs are highly sensitive and allow them to pick up on mood, tone and illness when in proximity to other Eos.
The light Eos emit tends towards the UV spectrum with many shades of blues, purples and even greens. The bioluminescent can occur in various shapes along all of their limbs and sections of their primary body segment though the most common shape utilized are round or circular. Eos can produce a reddish tint but reserve that coloration for extreme danger warning, specifically that the Eos in question is contaminated with a contagious affliction.
When Eos speak to one another their tone is conveyed via biochemical excretions, while their precise message is observed as the combination of color and intensity of the light they are emitting as well as where the light is being emitted on their bodies, all of which is then further complicated by the motion of their tentacles; making the Eos language challenging for other species to learn and replicate.
When Eos communicate with alien species they tend to speak in short simplistic sentences, their colors monotone and bright, their motions exaggerated for clarity. When speaking with Eos unfamiliar to the individual it is customary to use various shades of color, complex motions and various chemicals to indicate precise meaning. Within familial circles Eos communication falls somewhere between these two points, with many messages defaulting to a sort of short hand version of what would otherwise be a multifaceted series of motions and coloration shifts.
The chemical excreted during the wooing process is always the same though there have been cases of additional chemical compositions detected particularly when the Eos performing the wooing dance is nervous or expects rejection. Eos have tried to translate the various courting dances but each is slightly different, unique to the individual. They all share common traits however, messages of love, devotion and fidelity. Eos are known to be primarily monogamous and rarely seek new mates when widowed.
A few courting dances have been translated into poems and songs, performed by various artists and numerous species. The most well-known is the song "Your light is the ocean of heaven" in which the lyrics describe the object of affection as more beautiful than the stars, more essential than air and a rival to the gods. A popular book of poetry included over sixty translations of Eos mating songs and thirteen artistic still images that attempteed to capture the elegance of the movements in these dances. Two of those poems were removed from the collection after the Eos who created them filed against the publisher for not acquiring permission of their usage.

Mating
The most complex display of communication is observed only when Eos are courting. Though the shades of their light displays are more limited to four specific shades of purple, blue and green the flickering of the lights from one limb to another in combination with the series of motions they choose to woe their desired mate can be translated best as a song and dance. The chemical excreted during the wooing process is always the same though there have been cases of additional chemical compositions detected particularly when the Eos performing the wooing dance is nervous or expects rejection. The Eos language lacks a specific name or title. Many reffer to the language as Eos thouhg another attempt at translation labels it "Speaking".
Universal translators had to be updated after the discovery of the Eos language.
