Book 1 of The Innocence Project Archives
Neicha has never seen herself as anything other than normal. She is just like her siblings, assigned her adult name and future position within the tribe on her naming day. Just because she saw a vision, an uncommon but not unheard of occurrence, from the Goddess Tezlos that does not mean she is special. Neicha is devoted to her studies and her family. When her brother calls her a genius she brushes it off, when her sister calls her amazing she assumes it is just another way in which Hilaynia proving to be the kindest of them.
Yet when Neicha begins to notice the changes to her world, the shift in migration patterns, the increase in cases of cancer, the pollution of the largest river she finds herself questioning more than just the shift in her environment. Worse is the burning curiosity she cannot suppress, the little acts of disobedience she finds herself committing, until circumstances push her to rebel in a way that may result in her exile.
