History
It was during the grim period of the Necromantic War that fanatcism and zealotry grew between both the Coalition and Arkonian Order. Faith gave many lives solace during the turmoil. Ethandril Nox knew this more than anyone. He was the main organizer in getting the other Arkonian Dreadlords into writing what wisdom and guidance they could give. This would become Tesk Arkinith Vordt, "The King's Words." This achievement would have some believe he became pious on his own work, as he went around starting gatherings and cults. He would then perform many strange rituals to prove the effectiveness of necromancy but also utilize them to ensure faith as well.
The Orthodoxy itself wouldn't be officially formed until shortly after Arkengrath's fall. The most faithful and radical to the Order joined Ethandril and his quest to prove the Tamer of Death their loyalty and to showcase the immense possibility of necromancy.
Divine Origins
During the Necromantic War, the Arkonian Order struggled to make its intended agenda clear for other people. Ruthless leaders believed in eternal empires with mindless servants. The people wanted to live on with those they loved. Followers occasionally exploited their religious leaders teachings, such as spreading fear to keep oneself safe. Ethandril Nox, an Overseer at the time, believed that they all needed a cohesive code of conduct and lessons to learn from. Thus, he authored Tesk Arkinith Vordt, the holy text of Arkonia approved by Arkengrath.
Sects
Arkonia may look down upon these dreamers but their spirit is difficult to snuff out. The Tamer had put a tight grip of fearmongers around its first followers and that fright has carried onto them to be more as a cult than a religion of healing.
