Sol Ignus - Ember Lord
Sol Ignus, the Ember lord, is a powerful Archdragon, and one of the four Dragon Lords of Soliemia. He rules over the region of Soliemia known as the Ember Sands, reigning from his volcanic lair of Ember Hall.
Sol Ignus is an ancient being, said to have been born prior to the Dragon-Elf War of the Silver Age. Ancient legends tell that it was during the war that Sol Ignus ascended to become an Archdragon. Though how, and why four Archdragons were created around the same time, is unknown. Some have speculated that Ember Hall once contained a doorway to the Elemental Plane of Fire, which was used during the Dragon-Elf War to empower Sol Ignus, transforming him into an Archdragon. This would go to explain why the four Archdragons of Soliemia, match the elements of the Elemental Planes.
Some other ancient records of the Dragon-Elf War also suggest that Sol Ignus, along with the Archdragon Tempestra, had sided with Kakia, during the war. But during the final years of the war, the two Archdragons betrayed Kakia and joined the side of Aretos, potentially turning the tide in Aretos’s favour.
Sol Ignus has not been seen outside of his lair for many millennia, and due to his reported hatred of Mortals, Sol Ignus also rarely receives visitors at Ember Hall, but those who have visited describe it as being filled with a hordes of gold and precious jewels, which Sol Ignus covets.
In his absence, Sol Ignus sends his Draconic brood to serve his interests across Soliemia, usually through a show of force and destruction. Sol Ignus seems to have little care for his brood who are said to be fierce, violent and wild, making the Ember Sands the most dangerous region of Soliemia, and Fire Dragons the most feared and mistrusted of all Dragon species.
Appearance
Sol Ignus is described as a colossal Fire Dragon, quadrupedal, with a coat of fiery, red coloured scales, draped with a thick layer of black ash, his body is cracked with veins of molten fire, and his massive wings blaze with a never-ending smoke and flame.
On rare occasions, Sol Ignus has been recorded taking the humanoid shape of a muscular, elderly Elven figure, with dark tanned skin, long white hair that flickers with flame, and glowing eyes of molten flame. This form is said to dress in robes of fed and gold, over which is a suit of obsidian armour.
Personality
Sol Ignus is said to be an aggressive and tempestuous Dragon, with a deep and ancient hatred for Mortals. He is largely feared by the people of Soliemia due to his violent and destructive temper.
