Kobold

Kobold are a species of small lizard-like humanoids native to Exorsia. While they are sometimes thought to be related to Dragons and Dragonborn, Kobold are actually descended from Exorsian Reptiles. Like other Reptiles, Kobold shed their skin periodically, usually once per season.

Kobold can be found all over Exorsia, primarily as part of large Kobold colonies that live in extensive subterranean tunnel. The largest concentration of these colonies can be found in Soliemia and Terrasmus. It is very rare to find Kobold outside of their colonies, as they are notoriously dim-witted, skittish and cowardly, they are also exceptionally aggressive to outsiders and are well known to rely on traps rather than fighting opponents head on.

Dragon Worshippers

Kobold are famously obsessed with Dragons, worshipping them like Gods. The belief that the Kobold are related to Dragons comes from within Kobold colonies that use it to justify their servitude to Dragons.

Kobold colonies will often seek out nearby Dragons so that they can worship and serve them. Because of this, many Dragon lairs are often occupied by Kobold servants that manage and protect the lair.

While they usually don't make great servants due to their general incompetence, many Dragons tolerate their existence, enjoying in the worship and the occasional snack.

Appearance

Kobold are small bipedal lizards with scale covered bodies, tails and long snouts. Male and female Kobold look identical.

Scales: Kobold scales come in a variety of different colours, though usually shades of red, brown or green.

Eyes: Kobold tend to have large yellow coloured eyes.

Maturity

Kobold mature faster than humans, reaching adulthood by the age of 6. While they can reach ages upwards of 60 years, they usually die of unnatural causes before then.

Reproduction

Kobold hatch from eggs. Female Kobold can produce a litter of around 20 eggs annually. These eggs must be kept warm for approximately 60 days before they hatch.
