Culture
In the time before the Kervlen Union, the people of the south (the sky tribe) were a scattered and disunified group. There were distinct family groups with their own territory and laws. Contact between groups was strictly limited to those groups immediately next to their own. Things began to change about the year 14000. There was a great famine in the Bay of East Kervlen. The resulting food trade developed into a lasting trade network. It was from this area that two equivalent leagues first flourished, (East Kervlen in one league and Muhaiwir Kervlen & West Kervlen in the other.) All of Eastland's big cities were developed along the original trade routes, owing their very existence to this trade.
History
The modern country of East Kervlen is about 400 years old. Its history of this time, though, has been one of constant trouble. The warrior citizen has, for most of this time, been on full deployment and captured centralised power. Even though there has been a great period without war, it has not been without struggle, even in these quiet years.
The "Free Kervlin" movement has been active in East Kervlen as a guerrilla movement since the breakup of "Greater Kervlen" in 14716. This has introduced a lot of instability in the country.

These rulers use their own men to control the entire East Kervlen nation. They ruled with Force, which gave, however, the average man and women a comfortable life.
In 14 934, an attempt to build a united army among the people of East Kervlen was successful. The move was primarily made to ward off any pressure from the other members of the former Kervlen League, who at that time were looking to take by force the fishing rights within the bay of East Kervlen.
The United military worked well till in 15051, when the military took control of all national industry and government. Since that time, a General or Admiral has held total control of the government in East Kervlen.
Trade & Transport
The Invention most associated with East Kervlen is the Ice Ships. They are the only way trade can continue throughout the winter months. You will find their representation on the East Kervlen Shield. There are two sizes of boats in the fleet. 1) The smaller "Runner Class" (as seen on the Shield, and 2) the "Fleet Leader" class. These boats can be up to 150m Long.
