Elves

The Elves are the creations of the goddess Narmiraen. They were brought into being to tend and safeguard Evera’s forests and plant life alongside the Fairies. Elves are wise, curious, and creative beings, highly attuned to magic and instinctively in harmony with nature. They possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, and often immerse themselves deeply in various forms of art. Elves are long-lived but mortal, capable of living up to a thousand years. Over the course of the world’s changing ages, four major elven groups emerged, each with distinct customs and dialects.

Elves generally live in tribes, with one notable exception: the western so-called Mystic elves, who, alongside traditional communities, have established cities similar to those of humans, organized around families and individuals. Tribes that follow ancient traditions function as a single, extended family, sharing resources, raising children collectively, and jointly ensuring their own defense.

In elven culture, women hold a position of great importance. They are the heads of families and the ultimate decision-makers. Although some communities may occasionally be led by a male figure, there is always a female advisor at his side whose counsel he truly heeds. One of the greatest challenges faced by elven society is its low birth rate. This issue is particularly severe among more isolated communities, where careful attention is paid to degrees of kinship when forming couples—primarily traced through the maternal line. As a result, in most tribes, a child receives the mother’s tribal or family name at birth.
