Barrecks Clan

Currently the Barrecks Clan is lead by Julian Barrecks and has a rather large family line. They are responsible for the southern reaches of Ebrus and do a majority of the trading with Moglea. At the same time, the Barrecks are also responsible for most of the weapons and armor made in Ebrus. Living in an old giant's forge makes crafting easy for this clan. Barrecks family members tend to have dark black hair and light blue eyes. Their family colors are black and red, which make them stand out amongst the other families' lighter tones. When all is said and done, Barrecks put family above all else and will do anything to ensure their own are taken care of.

History

The Barrecks are one of the four major families of Ebrus. After the Loss of Home, the Barrecks traveled south to the edge of the Hurst Timberlands to find a new home. They intended to stay their permanently until they heard word from the Malikorme clan that not only had they defeated the giants that had once enslaved them but that they were in danger of being attacked by the wild men of the north. Most clans came out of respect for what the Malikorme clan had achieved. The Barrecks, however, saw a golden opportunity to create unity in a crisis.

They suggested the clans should combine as one. Solidifying themselves as one family, they would swear to protect their home as a single group. They decided to call themselves the Ebrus clan and together they fought off the wild men and solidified their borders. The Barrecks family returned to the south and took over an old giants forge that they renamed Brightspear. From there they began taking slaves of the local population of halflings that lived in the fields to the south. They were small and weak but proved to be good workers when it came to food production.   The Barrecks also saw hostilities with the Jopronan clas to the east. They had many confrontations over territory but the Barrecks proved admiral warriors with their long spears in hand. They would kill the riders as they approached and then take the horses of the slain as their own.
