The Longest Wall
The Longest Wall, often just simply the Wall, is a non-Euclidean structure on the outermost boarder between the Hellion Empire and the ashen desert of Limbo. It stands at over five stories tall with a width of seven meters constructed from thick stone reinforced with rebar with a gate of iron and steel every one hundred and fifty meters. The length of the wall is impossible to measure as any attempts to travers from one end to the other will result in one looping back over wherever the attempt began.
It serves as both the predominate defense and observation point of the border between Zhelad Daev and the border plane of Limbo as well serving as a jail for political prisoners, rebellious parties, and those convicted of treason. It is house to and garrisoned by the Guard of the Interior.
History
The origin of the wall is debated, its construction redacted from most imperial archives and all public records, but it can be stated to have been built sometime between the first and second civil wars. According to local tales, the fortress was built on the spine of a primordial god slayed by Pangloss during his grand incursion.
During the opening years of the Dissolution Conflicts, the wall was quickly taken over by the Twilight Initiative, a small militia in opposition to imperial rule in the area. It was quickly repurposed into a mass interrogation center and communications hub for the rebels and their allies. With the Twilight Initiative joining the Confederation of Independent Clans, the wall served as the base of operations for the confederacy for the remainder war.
As part of the Good Faith Agreement, the wall was returned to the Imperial Legions after the the end of the conflict, its confederate occupiers ordered to lay down their weapons and report for reintegration. Within four years, most of the remnants of the previous owners had been burned, buried, or demolished; the interrogation section would remain even after restoration efforts being renovated for imperial use.
