Elemaran

Elemaran is the name given to the world reformed by Kineva after the world that had existed before, Almaren, was destroyed in the War of the Gods. It is typically used to refer to the planet Elemaran, excluding surrounding stars, planets and moons (which had existed before the War of the Gods) but some scholars use it to refer to the entire dimension, especially when contrasting it to other dimensions such as Yana, realm of the Demons, and Animaren, former realm of the Shadraks .

Geography

Elemaran is divided into six continents: Breklend, Orlend, Argea, Jheoh, Syndal, and Avlera.
  • Breklend sits to the north, and is one of the coldest continents. It is divided in two by the Prothaein Mountains, with the northern area referred to as Granell. It is the only continent in which no sentient races were reintroduced after the war of the gods, but it is home to ethnic groups deriving from Orlend and Avlera.
  • Orlend is by far the largest continent, and extends the furthest south of any continent. A large peninsula, the Peninsula of Erdantia extends off the eastern coast. The continent is home to a large arid area in the south known as Senestria. The continent has three mountain ranges, one of which, the Impassable Mountains, sits to the north and crosses the continent east to west. The second is the Long Mountains and crosses the Peninsula of Erdantia along its length. The third divides the northeast of Senestria from the rest of the continent. It is the point at which three ethnic groups of Humans and later Shadraks were reintroduced.
  • Argea sits to the south and west of Orlend, and is one of the hottest continents. It is devided from the west to the northeast by a group of mountains called the Life-giving Mountains, which provide water and nutrition by rivers to the north of the continent. It is another place in which humans were reintroduced.
  • Jheoh sits to the west of Orlend, between Breklend and Argea, and is divided north to south by the Suzuro Mountains, and is home to many small feudal states. Once again, an ethnic group of humans were reintroduced there.
  • Syndal sits east of Orlend, and is home to a single nation, the Syndalan Empire. It has few natural resources, and has relatively infertile soil in many parts. Off the northern coast is Tekam, the place in which the Orcs were reintroduced after the War of the Gods, while Elves were reintroduced in the main continent
  • Avlera extends south-west from Breklend, and has no organised nations. It is the final place in which humans were reintroduced.

Localized Phenomena

Elemaran is home to a web of Kesselium that passes underground, known as leylines. Some pass through lines of latitude, and some of longitude. The longitudinal leylines all meet at the north and south poles, referred to as the Antihub and the Hub respectively. The hub takes magical energy from the leylines and converts it into heat. The antihub take thermal energy and converts it into mana. As a result, Elemaran is considerably hotter towards the south, and colder to the north.
