Deadly Desert

The Deadly Desert is a geographically and meteorologically unstable region which surrounds the subcontinent of Ostké. It is one of the so-called “Filters,” which exist to protect Eden from those who would seek to do it harm.

Geography

The Desert consists mostly of dune seas, only occasionally interspersed with areas of desert pavement, dry lakes, and salt flats.

Ecosystem

The Desert is extraordinarily arid, with only sparse vegetation. But it is home to several predatory species.

Localized Phenomena

The Desert is notable for its complete absence of precipitation. Though clouds often pass overhead on their way to or from the rest of Eden, those skies above the Deadly Desert never crack open.

Beyond that, the Desert seems to shift and adapt with a mind of its own—and a malicious one at that.
