Stallion's Saddle
Stallion's Saddle is a military stronghold of the Jiao Kingdom. The city sits at the pass between two mountains, which is the main route between the Amber Plains and the major cities of the Jiao Kingdom like Earthheart and Jiao Kand. Stallion's Saddle is the first line of defense against invading forces.
The City itself is primarily a barracks, military training ground, and pass-through town for merchant traders. Most who visit Stallion's Saddle will only see what's called either "Midtown" or "Lowertown." This refers to the lowest point of the city that runs its length from the north gate to the south gate. Lowertown is flanked on both sides by parts of the city built up onto a twenty foot terrace, which is also lined with defensive battlements. This section is home to most Inns, taverns, shops, warehouses, stables, and other laborers. There are many stables in Lowertown since the city gets a lot of merchants coming to purchase horses.
On one side of Lowertown, the West City features most of the barracks, the courthouse, the prison, and other government buildings. This area also houses the city's political and military leaders. This side of town is slightly more fortified than the opposite.
Opposite West City, East City also stands above Lowertown which is mostly residential, but does also have some shops and taverns scattered about. Many soldiers also have taken up residence in the houses in East City.
