Kuiper Corsairs

The Kuiper Corsairs are a loose and flimsy alliance of pirates and raiders operating on the fringes of the Protium Shore at the edge of the Great Constellation. They have their origins in the scattered remnants of humanity and defectors from the Royal Solar Navy's Kuiper Fleet before it formed into the Kuiper Flotilla. Raids on draconid voidships and holdings along the Protium shore by Corsairs who have defected from the Kuiper Flotilla have led some to erroneously believe that they are in fact privateers operating on the Flotilla's orders, slandering and negatively impacting the Flotilla's reputation.   The Kuiper Corsairs have no known heirarchy or chain of command beyond a given voidship's officer corp. When multiple voidships-of-the-line band together, it appears to be a temporary, ad-hoc alliance for the purpose of one or two raids. Despite the fact that there does not appear to be anyone in overall command, in recent times there have been increasingly persistent whispers of a "Duc Corsair", a rumour that none have ever been able to verify one way or the other.

Vessels Of The Corsairs

The Kuiper Corsairs are composed of a varied assortment of voidships from all corners of their fallen civilisation. The original core was composed of voidships-of-the-line that deserted the Royal Solar Navy and the Marine Etoile, with other vessels from other sources filtering in over time. Some of these are known to have mutinied from the Kuiper Flotilla.   It is rare to see more then two or three voidships of the Corsairs in the same place at any one time, unless more of them gather to conduct a large scale raid.

Zeroth Rates

Sometimes referred to as Dreadnaughts, Zeroth Rates were the largest and most powerful voidships-of-the-line in service to their civilisation at the time of its collapse. Unfortunately, it is confirmed that one of these mighty vessels has found its way into the ranks of the Kuiper Corsairs.

Only one of these vessels is confirmed to operate as a Corsair.
