One of the most defining aspects of a character is the choice of Profession. This determines the roles a character will fill, the skills they excel at, and the abilities they are granted. While this will undoubtedly evolve, the core aspect will always be the root of the story that unfolds outward from the genesis of the individual created. Below is a list and summary of the Core Professions, though it should be kept in mind that each has several specializations associated with it, allowing further customization for each.

Profession Metrics and Universal Successes: Each profession may use specialized names for its effects, such as Inspiration, Precision, Stealth, Insight, Influence, Innovation, or Resonance. These are profession-specific expressions of the four universal success metrics: Power, Range, Area of Effect, and Complexity. When in doubt, Power measures strength, Range measures distance, Area of Effect measures spread or number of affected targets, and Complexity measures added detail, control, duration, subtlety, precision, or secondary effects.

Point Spending Standard: Unless an ability states otherwise, spending a Profession Point adds +1 die to the roll. Profession Points do not automatically create successes unless a specific rule says they do.
