Golasi 971
The primary settlers and hosts of Golasi 971 is a clan of uplifted bears. They have transformed this world into a vacation spot. With the narrow strip of habitable area encircling the world, it is easy to keep different groups separated but also provide areas for amusement, games, and recreation.
Due to the high amount of magic used, some have felt that the world is given by the gods as a place of rest and recreation and have formed areas that attempt to cater to those who believe. The underlying changes each 21 days provides tour guides with an opportunity to be extremely improvisational as they might have only hours to start working up their stories for the next "term".
The bears provide a safe haven while maintaining a Neutral Good alignment for Golasi 971. The neutral alignment allows them to provide experiences for guests whether they be lawful or not, they maintain a strict Good alignment which prevents them from having to entertain those of evil alignment. Some have also found that there are runes inscribed in some of the structures that are said to be able to predict the future or foretell of future happenings.
Geography
Golasi 971 is a near terrestrial world. Compared to terrestrial Earth, it has a slightly higher gravity, near normal atmosphere and water index with a small population. It has a very short orbital period with no rotation which means that there is a hot side and a cold side and the mean temperature of 293K is somewhat misleading. It's a rather rocky world although the terminus, an area about 50 km wide and encircling the whole world provides a rather pleasing environment.
Localized Phenomena
While vacationing on Golasi 971, one may see an inordinate number of solarians. Unfortunately, due to some circumstances that may or may not be tied to the magic used to recreate much of the world every 22 days, Vorthuul can be occasionally found and must be eradicated for the safety of the guests. However, there is also a local Cult of the Devourer sect that worships the vorthuul and their power and surreptitiously helping to keep them around despite the bear's solarions best efforts. While not widespread, this can provide more excitement than guests tend to desire when visiting Golasi 971.
Tourism
With the orbital period of nearly 22 days, guests are provided with up to 21 days of habitation. On the 22nd day, the many guest areas are magically transformed by powerful magic ensuring that no two stays will ever be the same. Some major recreational areas may persist through the transformation, but this is rare and guest records are kept so that they will never have an opportunity to experience anything more than once. Of course, stays can be shorter, but never longer than 21 days. All guests are cleared from Golasi at the end of day 21, at least put on a ship in orbit and away from being able to witness the transformation.
Due to the high amount of magic used by the bears to provide this experience, magic use by guests is strictly prohibited. There is the potential for interference and manipulation that the bears cannot allow along with magic being used by guests to alter their experience which is something the bears do not want any guest to do. Guests are required to attest to a statement that they agree to not use magic while on Golasi 971 and the bears have been known to quickly remove guests who violate this restriction.
The same holds true for most technology on Golasi 971. While the hosts use technology to provide the fantastic experiences for their guests, guests are heavily restricted in the types of technology they can use outside of their rooms.
