June Recap

June, month of Summer Camp Prep, is officially over. This month was kind of very productive! Even if I didn't write a lot of new articles.

I did not do the whole prep but I did the hopscotches on hardmode. I skipped the prompts though, and they showed me once again, how difficult SC prompts are for me. Even with completing the prep work, I wouldn't say I am more prepared for the actual thing now, but it was fun. So this is the final prep article:

SC26 - Prep
Generic article | Jun 24, 2026

Some of you might have heard of Blue's chronicle challenge that was taking place between April and June. I only started to work on it at the end of May, but was still able to finish it. For my first attempt on a chronicle I went for 150 years of development of the little village of Tanningen in my world Nebelfels. There is a link to the actual chronicle within the article. While working on it, I stumbled upon a few "problems" I have with chronicles, but those will not keep me away from creating more. I already have one in mind I want to do next. But first let me give you a link to the article I was able to write this month:

My arrival at Tanningen
Settlement | Jun 24, 2026

And then Summer Camp started and the first prompts came in. As I was two out of the four days that were still in June on vacation, I was not able to finish any of them before June ended.

Beside that I also was able to update the world pages for both Meowrintha and Nebelfels. Feel free to let me know if you are missing anything on them. That is all I was able to achieve this month. I also was, once again, not able to write the daily 100 words I was aiming for.

And on this horrible disappointment, I normally finish my article, but this time I want to introduce a new section for my monthly recap that is the ...

Reading Report

Obviously this will not be about what books I've read, but which articles. I am always in awe when seeing Kummerwolfe's Reading List, and even if I don't have the time to read that much and publish a list that often, I want to do it at least once per month with my writting recap. I was thinking, which articles should qualify to be part of it and decided to set three criteria they have to fulfill.

  1. I will only include worlds that I do not follow myself to find new interesting stuff and point others to it
  2. The world has to have less followers than my main world has, so this is currently every world with less then 69 follower
  3. The article has to be announced by its writer in the community post section of WA, because somehow I have to find it and can't search every amazing world on this platform
There are a fourth and fifth point, which are not a criteria, but will most likely have an impact on what makes the list and what not: length and styling of the article. It is more likely I will read an article that is somewhere below 2k words. And also a little bit of styling goes a long was. Not everyone is into CSS, I know that, and ranks Master and below don't have as many opportunities to style an article as Grandmaster with its custom containers. But adjusting colors, fonts, and giving the article structure with some headlines and maybe even using columns (which everyone can) can already help a lot. So if you were hoping one of your articles might make it on my list, you now know my criteria for it.

Maybe I can help with driving some attention to new worlds, maybe I can at least cheer someone up with mentioning their article here, leaving a like and a comment behind.

The first article that impressed me was Vientoligero by Rethzel. It is an article about a sailing ship that has quite the history. I found it to be a very good article for a vehicle that basically covers all information something like this requires. If you can read Spanish, or if you’re not put off by the idea of translating the article into whatever language you like, I can highly recommend it.

I am glad I found this article. So far I haven't written a religion for any of my worlds, but this one I liked. I particularly love the fact that there are no strict commandments, but that faith is based on principles.
As I am currently (well, not really currently due to SC) working on two articles about my continents I loved that I coincidentally found this article which also describes one.
The final article is a character, a complex young woman with a moving past. I loved everything about her. Where she came from, how she developed, where she is now. The article is rather short and one could surely extended to a longer size, but I think the most important things are covered already.

Schöne Idee, weniger bekannte Welten etwas Spotlight zugeben!
