Unanchored Movement
The Unanchored Movement is a social movement growing in popularity, especially among young adults, that encourages others to stop relying on Core Anchors during Realm Conjunctions. Many of those who embrace the movement do not believe there is any risk of Plucking during Conjunctions, and claim that the warnings about such dangers were created by the Skywatcher Institute as a means of keeping the population of Avarha afraid so the Institute can have power over everyone and everything.
The movement noticeably began about fifty years after the use of Core Anchors became widespread. Those who had been born into a world where the Anchors provided safety during Realm Conjunctions had never experienced the fear or anxiety over possibly being pulled away to another realm - or losing a loved one to such an event - something known as Plucking. To them, warnings about not being away from Anchored areas during Conjunctions were simply tales told to scare children into staying home at night. While there have likely always been those who considered the chances of being Plucked so low as to not be worth worrying about, the more widespread movement did not begin until after Core Anchors became common.
Minimizing the Movement
The rise of the Unanchored Movement has led to a slight increase in reports of Plucking events. Due to this, and the risk of Plucking becoming greater the more the movement grows, local governments and the Skywatcher Institute have created many public awareness programs to promote safety across Avarha. These programs include public notices, education in schools about Realm Conjunctions and the history of Plucking reports, and the availability of free Core Anchors.
Common Beliefs of Participants:
- The Skywatcher Institute wants to control everyone in Avarha
- Plucking is not a danger and reports of it are fake
- Core Anchors are nothing special
- It isn't possible to move between realms at all
