Lazybrooke

Walking eastwards on a well travelled road your feet will take you across a well worn short and bulky cobblestone bridge crossing an energic brook. If you arrive early enough, the breeze will be refreshing, your gaze will lead you along the stream snaking through the hills glowing in the dawn like a giant sunbathing cat curled around the special village of Lazybrooke.

Latecomers however will tell you all you can see is the scattered coal plumes, and smell sweat and dirt as you push your way through a hoard of travelers and visitors buzzing about the Academy in a way or another.

Geography

Lazybrooke is a village in the Province of Rohmyr close to a small river, hence its name. It could be qualified as a large village or a small town located in a valley overlooked by hills. The hills are moderately wooded and dotted by the various pavilions of the Adventurer's Guild Academy.

Government

Power dynamics are quite unique in this "small village" due to the fact there are so many political actors. In theory, the mayor of the village is the authority. However having the most notorious academy of the kingdom brings a huge influence and its fair share of 'lobbying' and corruption. Adera also have her Personal Manor, making her a villager. She's also the headmistress of the local Academy grounds and technically manages the Academy, however her Baroness title is much superior, to the Academy or the Mayor. Being a location of national renown and attracting tourists and temporary residents, the King has station troops who have a unique authority status and have implicit kingly powers. Some foreign dignitaries also have diplomatic powers thrown into the mix.

Demographics

The population is evenly distributed between villagers and visitors and is a healthy mix of races commonly foudn in the kingdoms. Non-residents include: academy students, parents of the students, merchants and travelers alike. There is a peak period (not tallied) just before the graduation ceremonies when an incredible influx of people come to witness the famous dungeon crawl, more officially named "graduation ceremony". There are so many visitors, it requires extra merchants just to feed and tend to the tourists contributing to the explosion of populace large enough to be considered a sizable town. Ironically only about one quarter of the visitors can assist, as there is about 1,000 seats available for the final ceremony.
