Paruna Eldrage
"I have an urgent message for you, Professor Orbis, from...Oh, forgive me, the letter is gone! Where have I lost it? By the way, would you like some tea, professor?"
Biography
A happy-go-lucky, very clumsy student from Farlaer at Mage's Guild of Mauveria, who, despite her clumsiness, has earned herself the position of a research assistant of Orbis van Durge, a professor and a researcher at the same guild, whom she reveres very much for not only the works he has produced in his career, but also his caring personality, along with the permission to study there. In fact, it was not necessarily her skills that earned her the position, but her innocent, unintentionally daring personality that caught the attention of Orbis himself. Albeit, her skills in her beast magic is unmatched by any others in the guild, and ignorant of that, she strives to assist her professor the best she can.
Her name "Paruna" derives from the elvish words par meaning "to fear" and ruun meaning "without," combined to mean "fearless" or "unafraid." She does not identify herself with the name as she knows that she feels afraid sometimes as everybody else, but her innocence of speaking honest words in any situation sometimes appears as bravery although sometimes as foolishness too.
She has an odd-eyed black cat as her pet, which she found while travelling with Orbis. She called her Fiy, which is an elvish word for "gentle".
Backstory
She has come from the city of Farlaer to Mage's Guild of Mauveria to study there. She loves the nature and interacting with and learning about animals, and has been a massive fan of Orbis' joint publications speaking of his encounters with exotic animals and rare monsters through his journeys with Erima Hazbrind. She came to the guild in the hope of studying with them; however, she failed to pass the entry test, which involved a personality check and a practical aptitude test of very basic magic, which she performed with ease. Their rejection of her was not because of her lack of skills, but the fact that she mistakenly released a 'monster name here' (rare monster) which was being studied from the cage it was trapped inside on her way out, and it subsequently wreaked havoc, destroying some valuable research data among other things, and had to be killed since there was no one nearby that could safely re-capture it.
Among the things destroyed was some that belonged to a scholar at the guild named Corvin who was furious upon finding out about the incident and wanted to hand her over to the authority to have her imprisoned. Fortunately for her, Orbis, who was a good friend of the scholar, arrived at the scene to analyze the damage done; he could not help wanting to know more about her as he analyzed the room--he was astonished that she survived the mess completely unscathed, and went on to suggest the scholar that he give her a chance to study the same subject with him as a way to redeem herself or that he pay for her full immunity. The scholar grudgingly accepted his suggestion, but demanded that she bring him a replacement for the lost subject, which he did not believe she possibly could, saying that what was now in a pile of rubble was invaluable for his project that was to be documented for publication soon. Orbis happily closed the deal for her, and swiftly arranged a new expedition to 'location name here' with her where they would find and capture 'monster name here' as promised.
Upon their return, the scholar had nothing to say, and even moaned a little, realizing that now he had to bear his end of the bargain of teaching a clumsy troublemaker whilst his work continued. This course of events resolved in his favor, however, as it turned out Paruna's deep experience with beasts had trained her to develop a unique ability, similar to the Dominate Monster spell, to befriend or soothe lesser beings in intelligence, and this helped speed up the scholar's research on 'monster name here' since she could approach the monster without agitating it and perform a close up inspection of it for him. He even ended up having more information than he originally would have for his publication that he was preparing. Nonetheless, he did not want to keep her near himself due to her clumsiness, which had led to the loss of a few more things by the end, and dismissed her. With the damage compensated for, and having lost her only reason to be at the guild, she was about to leave and be on her way home, but was stopped by Orbis who had obtained a special permission for her to remain and study at the guild as his assistant from the Guild Master Navarel. Since then, Paruna has found herself working under the famous scholar she had always admired.
Role
She has recently been tasked by Orbis with finding out the truth of the Lost Champion on the island of Sye Padera as well as the whereabouts of the new Champion, and has been staying in an abandoned hunting lodge on the outskirts of the trading region with Erima Hazbrind, who is an ecology professor and a sister of Chari, under the pretense of field research. Orbis has told her not to talk of the search to anyone other than Erima, who has already been informed, with no clear details, and she believes protecting his next publication from other scholars to be the reason for the discretion. Though she does not understand the importance of her possible findings, she has sworn in herself to do everything in her power to get to the bottom of the quest.
Any players must deepen their friendship with her in order to extract the information about her job on the island from her.
Location
During the day, she may be out within the elvish territory on Sye Padera studying local animals with Erima or investigating ruins previously occupied by humans. At night, she can be found cluelessly wandering near the Arena in the orcish territory in the form of her pet cat

Her role in your TTRPG is firmly established. Just a little more on what the players see/feel when they are with her might help. She's fun and the article is well done either way
Oh thanks for the comment! Yeah I loved her as I was writing the article. I was kind of in a rush during World Ember, and I left this one half cooked. I plan on polishing it soon!
