Tegas Eisar

Tegas Eisar (House of God) is a megalopolis which has both a financial/business district and an entertainment district where gambling and partying is encouraged and a major revenue source. It is the financial centre of Penumbra.

What's the name of your settlement?

The Financial hub is known as Tega Sula, which means "House of Sulis", a reference to the Goddess of wisdom, Sulis Menrva.

The Entertainment district is known as Tega Alpana, which means "House of Alpanu", is a reference to a Goddess of underworldly luxury, Alpanu.

How big is this settlement?

  • About the same size as Typhon, or two of the smaller crater states combined. It is smaller in area than Aperion.
  • The Finance District is connected to the Entertainment District through a gallery and moving path
  • There is also an underground settlement "The Path" which is a middle point between the surface and the Umbrae networks beneath. It is a series of underground stores and pathways which connect the buildings of the Finance District, though the Entertainment District side was never finished and off limits.

What’s the purpose of this settlement?

  • Much of the finance and business in the Penumbra is conducted here, though only some of the assets are stored aboveground. This is where broadcasts are done from, as there is significant climate control here to ensure the comfort of many executives of LUNED and other corporations.
  • Everything here is run by multi level marketing companies, and you end up working for one without a question, whether you do well or not is based on how well you can convert or recruit people. This includes groceries, heating, and other things. Although the finance district operates on a grid, it is the ONLY place which operates on a grid. Everything else is a DIY, barely regulated mess.
  • The other side of the settlement, the Entertainment District, is meant to be its own economy but also allow for relief from the harsh working conditions in the Finance and Communication district. There is a tunnel between Tega Alpana to Everybody's Mall, which suggests that with enough investment more of these could be built.
  • The entertainment district has gambling, theatre, themed hotels, restaurants, and malls. It has a few suburbs for those who work there, and parking lots for temporary workers. The atmosphere is more mature and illicit than Everybody's Mall, with more adult-only activities and establishments.

What's the surrounding geography like?

  • The surrounding geography of these cities is pretty barren.
  • The craters that Tegas Eisar is built in have a plain-like topography. The outside rims are used for activities like skydiving, skiing, and cold sports. They are trying to figure out how to make a partially outdoors resort, but so far haven't had much luck
  • There are some inclines and declines in the city as expected, but nothing major until you get to the outer rims of the crater

What's the tone or vibe here?

  • The vibe is that of a bustling metropolis, a modern environment
  • The vibe in Tega Alpana is more luxurious and indulgent, with the intent to please the senses and make people want to spend money
  • Ultimately everything here is about money. The Tegas Eisar supplies a lot of the brokering between resources and corporations between the Penumbra and Antumbra regions, and is essential to the survival of the economy which keeps Penumbra habitable.
  • There are plenty of things to distract the senses, but also ways that it feels familiar to some who reincarnate here. There is a very rigid system here, yet in Tega Alpana anything goes, and much is swept under the rug.
  • The people who run and work in Tegas Eisar are often extremely religions and believe that they are in heaven, on a planet which God promised to them, and thus, Tega Alpana is a place to lure people so they can be converted, as well as profit off of the damned, and it actually works. Many of the Indifferent Shadows who work in Antumbra are recruited from Tega Alpana.

What does “a roof and a meal” look like here?

If you are here for business:

  • There are many hotels catering to workers and business people, including hotels for married couples, whereas other rooms are usually single occupancy. The ways in which they come up with different themes and efficiencies for their hotels are creative.
  • Due to demand, there are some family hotels now being built to account for visitors who are there to tour the area, but there aren't very many of these. The place of Tega Sula is quite insular and they aren't super fond of visitors without a purpose.
  • The food here is all owned by different corporations. The most popular are nutrition bars, powders for water, and dried plant matter often sweetened with ground minerals. Much of the food is instant or used to make smoothies. Different brands promote different diets meant to be the pinnacle of health.
  • There are some organic foods which are more luxurious that can be bought at a few MLMs who focus on importing them.

If you are here for pleasure:

  • Tega Alpana has a wide array of themed hotel rooms, most of which are catered to 4+ people per room, as group socializing is encouraged. The theme is bright but cheap, and seem to mock the popular figures from Everybody's Mall and the Penumbran craters. There are also plenty of luxury rooms for the wealthy and individuals who run the place.
  • Sometimes parking lots have openings but these are mainly reserved for workers and people who are working in Tega Alpana.
  • There is some excellent cuisine on par with Everybody's Mall, where they share a lot of the same buyers. It's the only place to get good food.
  • Tega Alpana has an oil recycling operation run by the Red Hoods, who have disguised themselves as a monsatic sect in order to blend in. This makes a lot of the food in Tega Alpana fried versions of things
