Pirate Switzerland
Pirate Switzerland is a country consisting of only 1 island. The swiss island is covered in mountains with a central valley in the middle. While originally inhabited only by loxodons, Pirate Switzerland is now home to a variety of races. Loxodons make up about 1/2 the population, the rest are pirates, and bankers, or the descendants of pirates and bankers.
The Swiss Bank
Being in league with a large group of pirates and mercenaries means that you can pay to have your trade protected. Being a magically advanced society allows them to create secure vaults secure against the vast majority of thieves. The Swiss Bank is a state run business within Pirate Switzerland. They loan to anyone and everyone. they have branches in every continent and aren't picky about clientele.Loxwarts

Loxwarts trains the wizards that represent the bank, protect it's interests, and secure it's vaults. They keep lists of secret spells that only the bank knows. The Republic of Switzerland was a loxodon society of magic users who were content on their island. Until several groups of pirates all learned that the swiss mountains were full of gold and silver. When pirates attempted to take over the island to extract the minerals and enslave the natives they were surprised to find that the natives were well versed in magic. The loxodons were so inward oriented that before this they had never searched to outside world. The natives made alliances with many of the pirates and formed a free trade and banking empire.

Pirate Switzerland is a naval power because they are constantly surrounded by pirates sworn to defend them and their ships at sea. Having your money shipped on a Pirate Switzerland boat is one of the safest ways to move it, for a fee of course. They are also famed bankers. The island they inhabit is rich in gold and silver, both their alliance with pirates and their affinity for magic makes them natural bankers. The vaults of the swiss bank have never been robbed, and they will loan to anyone with coin. They can find you wherever you go and you will regret it if you screw them over.

The Coven
The main body of government in Pirate Switzerland is called the coven. Each cove sends a Negotiator, appointed by the elected Covemaster. The Negotiators write and vote on policy that effects the whole of Pirate Switzerland.
Judicial Body
The Table
The table is the judicial body of Pirate Switzerland. When a citizen feels wronged by a fellow citizen or a visiting foreigner they can pursue repercussions at The Table. The wronged and the offender meet with a judge who acts as a mediator and makes the final decision on who owes who what.
