Yojo

I cannot take a side regarding the yojo, i'm going back and forth about it.
— Porpus
There are only a few rivers in Andeau, on highly traveled roads you will find a bridge to cross the waters. But other places will make use of a Yojo. This is a floating platform to cross the river safely. Mostly used to cross with cattle or other life stock. At some places it is used to transport people on foot or on horseback, but this is less common. Where a Yojo is used, most of the time you have to pay a toll to make use of the service or pay a monthly fee to cross as many times as you want. But when its used by farmers they have their own Yojo or having a agreement for payment in kind.

Before the Yojo, people used a raft and a rope to cross the waters. The problem was that you had to attach the rope beforehand and if the river is also used by boats, the rope got in the way. Also, steering was not possible which made it a very ineffective way of traversing the river.

Thats where the Yojo was invented. This squared boat contains two water wheels on either side of the vessel. This way you can cross the river without the use of a rope and you do not have to cross straight over the water. Making it possible to choose where you land on shore, even if you have to travel up or down the river. Which made it way better than the common raft. The only downside is that most Yojo's need at least two people to operate it because of the space between both wheels. A big pro is that steering and propulsion is very stable and controllable.
