Staroth
A malleable metal that reinforces fairly easily, shapes easily, and is in general fairly handy for most anything. It's also a pain in the ass to get at and very few outside of the Dwarves, the Bugs, or the Quilled know anything about it, and they keep this information to themselves for the most part.
Aibun is notoriously rich in it, and is what the The Quilled and The Bugs are warring over.
It is the blood of the Wyrm God of Madness now cooled. The body of the Wyrm God is valuable in many ways, but Staroth metal is certainly the greatest of them all.
The metal that is his blood liquifies at extremely high temperatures, but things coated with it will never break. Staroth-plated steel has been said to bounce cannonballs off with no harm to the wearer. (This is a lie. They did live, however, and only suffered some severe bruising with some cracked ribs and collarbone.)
Something true, however, is that you pretty much can't fire an arrow through the shit. It takes preternatural strength to get it done, and by the time anyone has tried to keep you compromised enough to try with any significance, you can probably figure something out.
It's very rare for this substance to get out of Aibun at all, and the few times it does, it rarely leaves the community where it went. Most of it is gifts in the form of tools, armor, or weapons.
