Aspects
The Aspects are Dragons, in a sense. The eight were born two at a time, each being parts of the story. The Beginning and End are two sides of the same coin. I can't remember who all are what, but there's Suffering and Bliss, Good Luck and Misfortune, Beginning and End, Redemption and Corruption. It's Introduction, Conflict, Rising Action, Climax, Resolution, with Introduction and Resolution being paired.
They are also the things I made to make other things. I have a nasty habit of defaulting to bipeds with thumbs and shit, so I made them to shake things up for me. The Aspect of Bliss made Trolls and the-giant-bug-people-that-Cat-also-won't-drop The Bugs. Dragon, The Aspect of Good Luck made the Dragonborn
Aspects do not reproduce genetically at all, and instead they can produce a single egg containing their Self and their power, the Aspect itself. They can also keep this inside their body.
The externalized egg Aspect is vulnerable, inert, and may be absorbed, destroyed, and probably cast upon. A Dragon that has lost its aspect loses its sentience, intelligence, and control; growing to the full power of their magic, they evolve into a Wyrm and usually begin laying waste wherever they are.
If the Dragon and Aspect are destroyed at the same time, the Aspect is dead. This has never happened.
If the Aspect is destroyed and the Dragon lives, the dragon forms a new Aspect egg inside. During this time window, they are vulnerable to death. This process takes a year.
If the Dragon is killed but the Aspect remains, the Aspect will hatch into a new Dragon, which will then form the new Aspect egg. This process takes a hundred years, from death of the Dragon to the egg's maturity.
