Dementian Magic
Dementian magic is also known as madness magic. As the name implies, it is primarily associated with the Ancient goddess Dementia. Associated with the Dark element, it is a school of magic that primarily relies on enchantments and curses.
General
Dementian magic, like Love Magic, is both a very powerful and very unwieldy magical practice. It is known to be particularly dangerous due to the mechanisms behind it; Dementian magic works directly with the mind and the forces of madness.
Utilizing Dementian magic requires one to scour the corridors of one's own mind, manipulating it in ways which will enhance the user's power. However, this is dangerous; not taking the proper precautions to ground oneself beforehand or trying to perform advanced magic without the proper gear can result in the mind shattering permanently (see Clucking Madness).
The trick to using Dementian magic safely is to explore the dens of madness while not falling into it. Practitioners wear specialized garments to better control the flow of magic throughout their bodies. These resemble straitjackets (like the one Dementia wears), with numerous belts banded around different parts of the body. This allows the magic to flow through users in certain ways that are less likely to cause brain damage.
Spell Types
Dementian magic encompasses a wide variety of enchantments and curses. Illusion magic is important in this practice as well.
Hatter Co. is known to infuse their tea blends with traces of Dementian magic in order to add extra qualities to them. While these amounts are harmless in the blends themselves, workers are forbidden from entering the rooms where this enchantment takes place unless they are specifically trained for it.
