Phoenix

Sorcerer

Level 3: Ignite

You gain the ability to kindle flames with a touch. As a Magic action, you can magically ignite one flammable object you touch that isn't being worn or carried, such as a torch, campfire, piece of tinder, or similar object.

Level 3: Mantle of Flame

You can unleash the phoenix fire blazing within your soul. As a Bonus Action, you wreath yourself in swirling flames for 1 minute. While this feature is active, you gain the following benefits:
  • You shed Bright Light in a 30-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet.
  • When a creature within 5 feet of you hits you with a melee attack or touches you, it takes Fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier.
  • When you cast a spell that deals Fire damage, add your Charisma modifier to one damage roll of that spell.
  • You gain Resistance to Fire damage.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Level 6: Phoenix Spark

When you are reduced to 0 Hit Points but not killed outright, you can use your Reaction to draw upon your phoenix spark. You are reduced to 1 Hit Point instead, and each creature of your choice within 10 feet of you takes Fire damage equal to your Sorcerer level. If this feature is used while your Mantle of Flame is active, the damage instead becomes your Sorcerer level + 2d8 Fire damage, and your Mantle of Flame immediately ends.   Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Long Rest.

Level 14: Nourishing Flames

Your mastery over phoenix fire allows your flames to burn through protections that would hinder lesser pyromancers. When you deal Fire damage with a spell or Sorcerer feature:
  • Your Fire damage ignores Resistance to Fire damage.
  • A creature with Immunity to Fire damage is instead treated as having Resistance to Fire damage against your Fire damage.
In addition, whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that deals Fire damage, you gain Temporary Hit Points equal to the spell's level + your Charisma modifier.

Level 18: Soul of the Phoenix

You have finally mastered the phoenix spark that dances within you. When you use your Mantle of Flame, you gain the following additional benefits for its duration:
  • Fiery wings emerge from your back, granting you a Fly Speed of 30 feet and the ability to Hover.
  • If the light created by your Mantle of Flame overlaps with magical Darkness created by a spell of 5th level or lower, that spell immediately ends.
  • If Phoenix Spark triggers while Mantle of Flame is active, after resolving Phoenix Spark you regain Hit Points equal to half your Sorcerer level, and your Mantle of Flame immediately ends.
Once you regain Hit Points through this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a Short or Long Rest.
