  • Dispersed Array - Change the attack pattern to a 30ft cone that deals 10d4 Lightning Damage to each of the targets in its area of effect. All targets must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Weapon DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Ability Modifier (Whichever governs your weapon attacks). Successful saves take half damage. Targets outside of the AOE, but within 10 feet of the affected targets take your Proficiency Bonus in Lightning Damage.
  • Focused Array - Change the attack pattern to a 45x5ft line that deals 10d4 Lightning Damage to each of the targets in its area of effect.
  •   Cartridge: Arc Weapon Charges   Special Maneuvers
  • Overcharged Shot - As a bonus action, amplify the power of your next attack with this weapon, converting it into a 60x5ft line attack that does 2d12 lightning damage to each of the targets in its area of effect. All targets must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Weapon DC = 8 + Proficiency Bonus + Ability Modifier (Whichever governs your weapon attacks). Successful saves take half damage. Any targets struck within the line will have Lightning arc to a nearby secondary target within 15 feet dealing your Proficiency Bonus in Lightning damage to the secondary targets. The attack itself consumes 20 arc charges when you do so. You may not use this maneuver again until after the end of your next turn.
  •   Special Properties
  • Arc Lightning Chain - Lightning arcs once from targets struck to a nearby target within 10 feet, dealing your Proficiency Bonus in unmitigated Lightning damage to the secondary targets.
  • Electric Shock - Prevents affected targets from taking opportunity attacks until the start of your next turn.
  • Rechargeable - During a short rest, the power cells can be recharged to half. During a long rest, the power cells can be recharged fully.
  •   Loading: Fast recharge (charge 10 shots) with a Bonus Action. Requires an Action to recharge completely.   Jamming: This weapon does not jam.   Handling: 2-handed

An earlier Drakaan weapon, the Type 40 Arc Caster is a powerful short range weapon deployed frequently during boarding actions or aboard the Drakaan arcrider fleet to protect against would-be invaders. Its closest ballistic analogue would be a shotgun. The weapon requires a secondary capacitor attached to it to supply the power necessary to deliver the less-focused shocks. It does not use an ionizing path, for its arrays instead create a very large discharge of energy with some guidance plating to help 'guide' the lightning emitted from the weapon. Because of this reduced focus, things that mitigate lightning damage do well against it, but unprotected targets suffer the full power of its discharges. It requires frequent recharging to deal with the high power drain.
