Personal history

DD's parents disappeared when she was 5 years old and presumed dead. She doesn't remember a thing about them. Her birth name (last) is Lifeh, but she will often refer to herself by her adoptive parents' last name of Hazevale.

She was raised by Tase and Sigol Hazevale in a predominantly halfling village. Despite her adopted parents never hiding the fact that she wasn't a halfling from her, she thought she was until she hit adolescence and realized the other kids were not going to grow any bigger. Despite not being a halfling, she grew with the personality of one, lighthearted and kind, enjoying the simple things in life.

She had many friends, but sometime during adolescence she became obsessed with books and became devoted to reading and learning as much as she could. Tasi and Sigol started to see changes in her as she reached her late teen years: some strange behaviors such as going days without sleeping while she was trying to grasp some nugget of information and isolating herself in the village's makeshift library for long periods of time. She became fey, turning inward with her own thoughts.

Education

Daerdra was taught the basics as a child and absorbed every morsel of knowledge anyone could impart. If anyone was an 'expert' at something she was interested in, she would hound them relentlessly until they spilled every single drop of information on the given subject matter. Her language skills were uncanny, and she was able to teach herself quite a few languages just from books.

Employment

DD was pretty much an errand girl, but she would spend much of her time collecting, curating, and caretaking the library. She would also part time teach the halfling children.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Self taught 4 cantrips and 2 level one spells (Grease/Reduce Person) w/o needing to regularly study them. She kept the secret of being capable of learning magic secret for a decade.

She doesn't talk about those. Things happened. Friends died.

Mental Trauma

Other than her parents disappearing, DD had a relatively normal, happy life. Oh, but there is something: Tasi and Sigol knew DD's true heritage and never told her. She has no idea she's got Elf blood in her. Mention of the possibility disturbs her for some unknown reason.

Intellectual Characteristics

Daerdra is very intelligent, and while she seems to have her head in the clouds quite often, she is always thinking, thinking, thinking. She likes puzzles and problems.

DD is kind and believes that everyone has some kindness in them. Right up until the moment she doesn't. Then, there is a problem.
