I’m not going to dwell any further on the whole ‘time flies’ thing now; it’s pointless anyway. Instead, let’s move on to what’s turning out to be a rather moody summer camp prep XD.

Topics

When I look at all the topics on the table this time round, it somehow feels personal. Love – yes, especially for our little second son, who still needs so much help, and the extra doctor’s appointments for him. I hope they’ll all turn out well in the end.

Love also for my mum, who sadly also represents loss. I wish things had turned out differently for her. And for us, too. We’re still keeping busy, but well, these things take time.

Nevertheless, with our second son, the family has grown. And so have their demands. Well, some of them just came back, too.

In any case, they shape the family, and in a way, love and loss have brought the family even closer together.

So you could say I have a feel for these topics. And generally speaking, I’m sure I’ll be able to write something, definitely in the worlds, because I’ve got plenty of ideas there. We’ll just have to see where, how and how much.

Personal goals and preparation

Goal and focus

As is almost always the case, “Diamond or Die” XD. Although I did think about it for a long time. I wouldn’t have any trouble filling the month without SC, so I wondered whether I’d have more peace and quiet and some much-needed rest without SC. The answer was: not really – only once my older little one has settled into kindergarten, but that doesn’t start until August. With that in mind, let’s see how it goes. And if it’s Bronze, so be it. And the focus? Hey, it’s nuts that I’m even taking part in the first place, so I’ll just go with the flow. The focus is on Yenort and Makista ;). For Yenort, I’ll use prompts that I’ve already been meaning to write about, and for Makista, I’ll briefly cover the rest, so I can then weave connections between the points and start planning as I write. That suits me anyway. I also want to try writing shorter articles with Makista. Let’s see how it goes ^^.

Writing schedule

lol. I’ve got two children, a toddler and a baby. Neither of them can really be planned for, so – taking into account the other things I’ve got on my plate – I’m planning to use every bit of time I can get my hands on, right now, for writing, whether that’s preparation or writing straight away (and also to write shorter pieces sometimes – though I’ve set myself that goal quite often before). The hope is that this will help me get back into writing. But hey, I’m on parental leave without a job, so maybe that helps too ^^.

Why world-building?

That’s not such an easy question to answer this year. I haven’t continued writing the Yenort story involving Zahirr, Ardmenes, Azmaer and Secere for quite some time now. It’s actually been over 10 years now XD. Role-playing in that world – my main motivation over the last few years – has also been on hold for over 5 years now – because, before we had children, we were playing Shadowrun, or rather the world of one of the players, as he was just about to publish it.

My husband and I were chatting recently about our desire to role-play. Long story short: it’s just difficult; we’d probably need a new group. But as things aren’t quite working out for us at the moment either…

I’m writing in Yenort for the sake of world-building, to make the world more interesting to play in, but also to make it richer and more well-rounded overall.

And Makista? I’m writing that for fun, partly because of my roots in sci-fi. Plus, there are a few things you can do there that aren’t possible in Yenort. It also allows me to stay truer to the essence of Yenort, which is worth a lot in itself.

And finally, the fun hopscotch game

At least they’re trying to mix things up a bit ;). But just a quick one – we’re off to my niece’s birthday party later today and need to do some shopping first. At least they’ve got air conditioning.

Review your maps and timelines: Do you need new ones?

Yes, I’ve had a look at both and yes, I need new ones. Well, the timeline ‘just’ needs updating, etc. The maps, which so far are more like rough sketches on paper, are a bit of a massive work in progress. And that’s just for Yenort. For Makista, it’s still in the planning stage.

Why did you choose this area of focus? Why is it fun to write?

Well, that’s actually already stated under ‘Focus’ ;). Or rather: the ‘die trying!’ reason. Or perhaps ‘under construction’? At least that way it’s as much fun as possible, because otherwise I’d die of perfectionism.

Gather music or other media to inspire you, OR Read a book to inspire you

Recently, I’ve been listening to a bit of The Automatic Singer regarding WH40k. My husband is partly to blame for that. And I read all sorts of things, though mostly just skim through them. And does it all count as books? It certainly broadens the spectrum, though.

Find a community, OR Find an accountability buddy

It’s there, definitely. I just need to get more involved again – and not just talk about the weather, funerals and children. Or rather, what to write. But it’ll be fine. And the Seven Tomes are becoming active again too.

And since this is relevant in this case: I hope I’ll manage to write a few nice articles, as there are one or two I’d really like to dedicate to BlueFairy – ones I’m proud of, at least by my own standards. The challenge’s been over for ages, but life hasn’t exactly been easy of late. And maybe I’ll find something for Tillerz too ^^.

Ich dehne den Spruch mit der verfliegenden Zeit jetzt nicht noch weiter aus, bringt eh nichts. Dafür auf zu einer doch eher launischen Summer Camp Prep XD.

Themen

Wenn ich alle Themen gegenüberstelle, die es dieses Mal gibt, wirkt es irgendwie persönlich. Liebe ja, insbesondere für unseren kleinen, noch so hilfsbedürftigen zweiten Sohn und die zusätzlichen Arzttermine für diesen. Ich hoffe, sie enden auch irgendwann im Guten.

Liebe auch für meine Mutter, die leider auch den Verlust darstellt. Ich hätte ihr gewünscht, es wäre anders verlaufen. Und uns auch. Wir sind immer noch beschäftigt, aber gut, so was dauert.

Trotzdem, mit dem zweiten Sohn ist die Familie gewachsen. Und deren Ansprüche auch. Na ja, mancher kamen auch einfach wieder.

Auf jeden Fall prägen sie die Familie und in gewisser Weise haben Liebe und Verlust die Familie noch enger zusammengebracht.

Man kann also sagen, ich habe zu den Themen einen Zugang. Und so ganz generell werde ich auch sicher was zu schreiben können, auch definitiv in den Welten, denn da fällt mir viel ein. Nur mal sehen, wo, wie und wie viel.

Persönliche Ziele und Vorbereitung

Ziel und Fokus

Wie fast immer "Diamond or Die“ XD. Wobei ich lange überlegte. Ich hätte keinerlei Probleme, den Monat ohne SC zu füllen und so habe ich überlegt, ob ich mehr Ruhe und dringend benötigte Erholung hätte ohne SC. Die Antwort war: Nicht wirklich, erst nach der Kindergarten-Eingewöhnung des größeren Kleinen, aber die startet erst im August. In diesem Sinne mal sehen, was klappt. Und wenn es Bronze ist, sei’s trotzdem drum. Und der Fokus? Hey, es ist verrückt, dass ich überhaupt starte, in diesem Sinne mache ich, was sich ergibt. Der Fokus ist Yenort und Makista ;). Für Yenort nehme ich Prompts, zu denen ich noch bereits was schreiben will und für Makista kurz gefasst den Rest, um dann zwischen den Punkten Netze zu spinnen und beim Schreiben ins Planen zu kommen. Das liegt mir eh. Außerdem will ich mit Makista mal kürzere Artikel testen. Mal sehen, was wird ^^.

Schreibzeitplanung

lol. Ich habe zwei Kinder, ein Kleinkind und ein Baby. Beide sind nur bedingt planbar, also plane ich auch in Anbetracht der anderen Baustellen, jede Zeit, die ich in die Finger bekomme, eben jetzt zum Schreiben zu nutzen, ob Vorbereitung oder direkt (und auch teils kürzer zu schreiben – das Ziel setzte ich mir aber auch schon öfter). Die Hoffnung ist, so auch wieder ins Schreiben zu kommen. Aber hey, ich habe Elternzeit ohne Beschäftigung, hilft vielleicht auch ^^.

Warum die Weltenbauerei?

Das ist dieses Jahr gar nicht so einfach zu beantworten. An der Geschichte zu Yenort rund um Zahirr, Ardmenes, Azmaer und Secere habe ich schon lange nicht mehr weiter geschrieben. So richtig ist das über 10 Jahre her XD. Das RP-Spielen in der Welt, der Hauptmotivator die letzten Jahre, liegt auch jetzt seit über 5 Jahren brach – weil wir vor den Kindern erst mal Shadowrun spielten bzw. die Welt eines der Spieler, weil der gerade veröffentlichen wollte.

Mein Mann und ich unterhielten uns letztens über den Wunsch zum Rollenspielen. Kurzfassung: Es ist halt schwierig, wir bräuchten wohl ne neue Gruppe. Aber da es bei uns auch gerade noch nicht richtig geht…

schreibe ich an Yenort um des Weltenbauens wegen, um die Welt interessanter zum Spielen, aber insgesamt auch voller und runder zu bekommen.

Und Makista? Das schreibe ich zum Spaß, schon wegen meiner Wurzeln im SciFi-Bereich. Außerdem kann man da nen paar Sachen machen, die in Yenort nicht gehen. Zudem kann ich so dem Kern Yenorts treuer bleiben, was auch viel wert ist.

Und zuletzt noch das witzige Hüpfspiel

Immerhin, sie wollen Abwechslung rein bringen ;). Das aber nur ganz kurz, wir sind heute noch auf dem Kindergeburtstag meiner Nichte und müssen vorher einkaufen. Immerhin haben die Klimaanlage.

Karten und Zeitstrahle

Ja, ich sah mir beides an und ja, ich brauche neue. Na ja, der Zeitstrahl müsste „nur“ ergänzt, etc. werden. Die Karten, die bisher eher Papier-Skizzen sind, sind da schon eher ganz große Baustelle. Und das jetzt nur bei Yenort. Bei Makista ist das noch in der Planung.

Grund für den Fokus

Na der steht eigentlich schon beim Fokus ;). Oder auch: er „die trying!“-Grund. Oder eher „under construction“? So macht das zumindest den größtmöglichen Spaß, denn an Perfektion sterbe ich sonst.

Musik, Bücher, etc.

Zuletzt hörte ich ein bisschen was von The Automatic Singer hinsichtlich WH40k. Mein Mann ist in gewisser Weise schuld. Und ich lese alles Mögliche, meistens aber nur an. Und ob alles als Bücher zählt? Weitet aber das Spektrum.

Gemeinschaft und so

Ist vorhanden und vorhanden. Muss mich nur wieder mehr einbringen und zwar nicht nur übers Wetter, Trauerfälle und Kinder. Bzw. was schreiben. Aber das wird schon. Und die seven tomes werden auch gerade wieder aktiv. Und weil das mit rein gehört in dem Fall: Ich hoffe, dass mir ein paar hübsche Artikel gelingen werden, da ich ein oder zwei nämlich sehr gerne BlueFairy widmen würde, auf die ich zumindest nach meinen Maßstäben stolz bin. Die Challenge ist zwar schon lange um, aber das Leben war aktuell leider nicht leicht. Und vielleicht finde ich auch noch was für Tillerz ^^.
