It's that time of the year again, when the best of the best of worldbuilding is on display. 2025 was perhaps not as productive as other years, but it was a good year in terms of worldbuilding and in terms of the art I made for many of my articles, I'm finally aware of the positive evolution of both things and that makes me really proud.
And after watching people sharing their submissions I thought to myself: Why not? Let share them with all the beautiful anvilites out there because I'm very proud of these ones!.
Best World
The only world I'm working on at the moment, I'm so proud of the evolution of the world during these years, but still, there is still a lot of work to do. Still, I'm in love with this world where you got cultures and civilizations with very different historical inspirations, even from different periods! And so far I'm happy to see that you like this mish-mash of historical inspired world that it's Yeia.
Cartography Award
A map depicting Valia, the capital of the proud Republic of Valia. One of the most beautiful and populated cities in the Blatian World. And Yeia's fourth richest city.
This is one the most beautiful maps I've done with Inkarnate, welcome to Valia, the bustling capital of the republic of the same name, and one of Yeia's most important cultural and commercial centers. A cosmopolitan city, teeming with artists, adventurers, merchants, and power struggles.
Best Worldbuilding Article
I choose this article because it's the most detailed conflict I've written about. For this article I tried something that I considered a a novelty, in terms of my articles, to be the inclusion of music for each section. The War of the Great Call is the great conflict between Light Elves and their Half Elf relatives around Yeia against the forces of darkness, the great coalition of Dark Elves and Dark Tieflings. Many consider this war as the greatest expedition since the time of the heroes, thousands of years ago.
Heart & Minds
The Davidovian games were the greatest sport event of its time, a competition to honour not only a goddess, but also to honor the indivisible bond between the Davidovian peoples and their common ancestry. During a week, people from the
Ikarian Empire, the
Seris Empire, the
Kingdom of Oronia and briefly the Crorai and the Kallian peoples, were trying to bring glory to their respective countries and cities. And with the ammount of donations from Kings and different cities, the sanctuary of Tyr Panematris, where the games were held became one of the wealthiest places in the world.
Rise of Nations
Sun Elves have an special place in my heart as well as in the hearts of some of Yeia's followers. They are probably the most "exotic" of all the Elves, their story and culture is also very interesting and colourful, as their fashion and traditions.
Wondrous Nature
I love writing about dinos... I mean dragon birds, and this is the most beautiful one I've drawn until now. Did three drawings for this one that I'm very proud of. Also needless to say their customs and hunting methods are very particular and uncommon among bird dragons in Yeia; only members of their family use such techniques.
Strength & Honor
The Emperor of Blati, ruling from the Pearl of Yeia, is one of the most powerful monarch/political figures in the world, unparallel in terms of power, prestige and wealth. He rules over one of the two great "superpowers" of Yeia . And for his subjects, he is the continuation of the Ikarian Empire, a monarch of divine ancestry who will restore the glory of the old days. In this article you'll get a glimpse of this glamour and prestige surrounding the Emperor with their coronation ritual and the regalia he wears, as well as his importance in the politics and organization of the Blatian Empire.
(Also the art I made for this article might be one o the best I made, and I'm super proud of it)
Pillars of Progress
This is one of my most liked article, and one of my most cherished ones, since I'm not quite confident writing about technology, but judging from how people loved it, this article proved me wrong. The Artificial Sun is essential for the survival of the Snow Elves in their cave settlements which, without them, would have become inhospitable, dark and cold places. The technology behind it is one of the most heavily guarded secrets in Yeia.
Myths & Legends
The story of Arjuna and Sita is for the Elves as the Illiad and the Odyssey were for the Ancient Greeks. It's the origin of their worldview, their vision of good over evil, their vision of honor, heroism, piety, faith, and love, among other things. Two lovers, separated by miles, seek to find each other despite the adversities created by the God of Death, with their own ingenuity, faith, and sometimes with a little help from the gods, because in the end, love conquers all in this beautiful myth.
That's a beautiful map! Best of luck!!
