Miyeritar

An ancient drow empire, Miyeritar once controlled the entirety of the Underdark. Believed by scholars as the counterpoint to Alamor, the histories suggest that Miyeritar was in frequent conflict with its surficial counter. 
Nobody is certain why the empire collapsed, however, the city of Eryndlyn is currently built on its ruins. Research has suggested that the fall of Miyeritar happened long after the fall of Alamor, suggesting that these two empires collapsed for different reasons. Scholars and poets agree that the fall of Miyeritar was likely due to the collapse of Alamor, as without it's rival, the empire likely fell into scheming and infighting.
The ruins of Miyeritar serve as a network of secret, underground passages for the people of Eryndlyn, who use it to pass through the city unnoticed.
