Merchant Map
The above is an example of the kind of map typically carried by merchants across Wyrring. These maps - known as "Merchants Maps" - do not show the distances between places exactly, but instead show the amount of time it takes to travel between notable locations using various forms of transportation. In the above example, half-days of travel are shown for carts (solid lines), ships (dotted lines), and rafts (double lines). These maps typically also show areas of danger (in the above this is shown as large, crossed out areas), the locations of major military outposts (shown as hollow circles), and important stars used for navigation (shown as diamonds).
The scale of Merchant Maps can vary depending on if a traveler wants to focus on a specific region or method of travel, but most maps typically focus on the major sealanes between Kymene and Drury. Sailors in particular use these maps so that they can purchase appropriate amounts of supplies for their journeys, as well as keep track of approximately when they are most likely to encounter pirates or other hazards during their voyage.
These maps are used primarily for planning trips across the continent, particularly in the case where one is travelling to a place they are unfamiliar with. Although they are frequently relied on, there are many who criticize their usage, as they tend to give new travelers a false sense of security. Despite the large amount of useful information provided by these maps, they don't include other critical pieces of information necessary for safe travel, such as terrain, expected weather, detailed directions, or rest stops. Many travelers have been found on the side of the road, having lost their way or found themselves without the necessary supplies to continue because they had blindly followed a Merchant Map.

This is an incredibly cool concept and I love the art that came along with this. Wonderful article and neat premise!
